A Little More Light Changes Everything

A quieter posture in the middle of real life.

Hey there SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 3. Issue 5!
Life has a way of turning up the volume, and before we know it, our thoughts are racing to keep up. Tracy’s message on Sunday reminded us that following Jesus often begins with paying attention, especially to what’s shaping our inner world.

We talked about how real pressures can quietly steer our focus, pulling our attention toward worry, urgency, or noise. Jesus meets us right there, inviting us into a clearer way of seeing. Like adjusting a screen with too much static, the Spirit gently helps us notice what’s off without panic, guiding us back toward trust, clarity, and peace as we stay connected to Him together.

Need a quick reset? This week’s blog offers a short, thoughtful read, and the Between the Shores podcast continues the conversation in a relaxed way. Use the buttons below to read or listen, whichever fits your day.

Pre-Service Prayer
Our prayer team will be available from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. before the service. If you have a prayer need or would like someone to pray with you, you are welcome to meet the team near the Prayer Room in the Great Room. It is a simple way to quiet your heart and invite God’s presence before the morning begins.

This Sunday, Joel will talk about the difference between reacting and believing, especially when life feels tense or uncertain. Reacting can leave us dug in, while believing keeps us open, present, and ready to move with God. It will be a chance to notice what is shaping our responses and consider what it looks like to stay attentive and trusting in the middle of real life.

Kids Church meets in the Kids Wing, and classes get started right at the beginning of the service. The Kids Wing door closes once classes are underway, so arriving early helps kids ease into their space and supports our amazing Kids Church team as they care for your children.

Save the Date! Join us for an evening of community, shared stories, and vision as we take time to reflect on where God has been at work and look ahead to what’s coming next. This will be a relaxed, meaningful gathering with space to listen, connect, and imagine together. Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m.

We’re getting tax receipts ready. If your address has changed since last year, please email the church office at [email protected] with your updated information. This helps everything get out smoothly. Thanks for taking a moment to help us keep things organized.

God’s presence brings a different rhythm. One that rests, listens, and leads from peace rather than pressure. His light does not erase the story we are living. It helps us see it more truthfully and stay grounded as we move through our days with Him.

If baptism has been on your mind, we would love to walk through that conversation with you. Click HERE or sign up at the Hub on Sunday, and someone will be in touch to talk through what’s next.

Deep Cleaning Days
We are turning cleaning into a team effort. Come help freshen up our shared spaces, laugh a little, and leave knowing you made a difference. Drop in for as much time as you can. Sign up below or at the Hub on Sunday.

Gideon Gallant is one of those people who shows up wherever help is needed. He serves on the Missions Leadership Team, supports things behind the scenes on the Tech Team, and brings a steady, thoughtful presence to our youth. We are thankful for the way he shows up, jumps in, and helps our church run smoothly.

Looking to get more involved? Joining a team is a great way to build community, discover your strengths, and help others experience Jesus along the way. From making coffee to running slides, greeting at the door to helping with kids—there’s a place for you. Let’s find it together.

There’s always something taking shape at SCC—and we’d love for you to be part of it. From upcoming events to ways to serve and grow, our website is the best place to explore what’s happening. Take a look and find your next step.

One more thought…
Life will keep offering noise and urgency, but clarity grows when we slow down and stay attentive. This week, practice noticing what is leading you and allow God’s presence to steady your steps as you move forward.

Thanks for being part of what God is building here. We love walking this out with you. See you Sunday.

P.S. Turns out we do not need everything figured out. Staying present and paying attention can be a pretty good place to start.
