A Look at What Your Giving Has Made Possible
Hello SCC Family,
As we come toward the end of the year, I want to say a genuine thank you for the way you’ve supported the ministry of SCC. Your generosity has been a steady encouragement. When I first stepped into the Treasurer role, giving often sat two or three percent lower than the year before. This year, we’re trending six percent above. That kind of shift does not happen by accident. It reflects a community that is trusting God and leaning into His work together.
We stepped into 2025 with faith, choosing to invest in the ministry roles and resources needed to care for our church and reach our city. Even as expenses rose, our weekly income has consistently kept pace. We can only look at that and say God has been faithful. As Paul reminds us, “God is the one who provides seed for the sower,” and He has done that here in such a tangible way.
As we look ahead to 2026 and continue discerning what God is calling us toward, my prayer is that all of us will keep growing in the kind of trust that Jesus teaches. The parable of the mustard seed shows us that even small steps of faith can make a surprising difference. When each person gives in a spirit of worship and contentment, it strengthens the whole church in ways that echo far beyond the spreadsheet.
If you are planning your end-of-year giving, I hope you will consider SCC. You can have confidence that your giving is making a real Kingdom impact. Nearly half of every dollar directly fuels ministry here at home, and last year more than $86,000 went out to mission partnerships. Projects such as Youth or Children’s ministries, Missions, and paying down the mortgage are meaningful places to designate a gift if you feel led. You are also welcome to give to the General Fund and allow the finance team to place it where it is most needed.
We also recognize that for many people, finances can feel overwhelming. If that is your situation right now, you are invited to a simple “Money Matters” workshop on Wednesday, January 14. We will walk through a few practical principles that can help build stability and peace in your financial life. The session will be at 7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room.
On behalf of the Finance Committee, I want to thank you again for your generosity, your trust, and your partnership in the gospel. May the hope of Jesus fill your home this Christmas, and may the year ahead draw us even closer to His heart and mission.
