Living a Cross-Shaped Life: Are We Truly Following Jesus?

Hey there SCC Family!

As we hit the 13th Thursday of the year, welcome to "The Bridge #13," your weekly guide to bridging Sunday insights with everyday life. This week, Tracy's "Listening & Responding" series prompts us to dive deep into the heart of following Jesus. As we edge closer to the weekend, she challenges us to embrace a cross-shaped life, marked by humility, trust, and a daily 'yes' to our Good Shepherd. How do we reflect Jesus' sacrificial love in our daily interactions? Let's explore how developing trust with Jesus shapes our actions and relationships. It's not just about understanding His sacrifice; it's about living it out, with the Holy Spirit guiding us every step of the way. Ready to live under the beauty and guidance of the cross this week? Thought-Provoking Insights: In our day-to-day, it’s easy to miss those moments that urge us to trust deeper in God. Each day is an invitation to spot God's love in action around us, urging us from skepticism to trust. Reflecting on Jesus' humble entry into Jerusalem contrasts sharply with today's prideful power, reminding us of the kind of strength and leadership Jesus embodies—one rooted in humility, self-sacrifice, and self-emptying love. Let's explore how we can embody these qualities in our lives, turning every challenge into an opportunity to trust more deeply and love more boldly, following the path laid out by Jesus, our Good Shepherd. Missed Tracy’s talk? As we head into this weekend, let's ask ourselves how we can reflect Jesus' sacrificial love in our actions, how we can fill our lives with His presence, and how we choose to walk in His footsteps, guided by the Good Shepherd. It’s an opportunity to live out the lessons of Holy Week, to see Jesus in our daily lives, and to reflect His light in a world that desperately needs it.

Thanks as always for your time, attention, and trust. See you on Sunday!

P.S. This week, immerse yourself in Matthew 16:24 and see how it challenges us to consider what it truly means to follow Jesus. Reflect on the call to take up our cross, emphasizing the journey of self-denial for the sake of Christ. How does this scripture inspire us to live out our faith more deeply in our daily lives?
