From Broken to Whole

The Bridge #21

Hey there, SCC Family!

Happy Thursday! Can you believe it's already the 21st Thursday of the year, and June is almost here? We're excited for what lies ahead. A special note: Pastors Tracy, Colby, and Heather will be heading to California on June 4th for the Jesus Image conference. Let's keep them in our prayers for a safe and inspiring trip.

In last Sunday's message, Henk emphasized the importance of addressing unhealed wounds to fulfill our spiritual assignments. He drew from Hebrews 12:1, explaining how trauma, whether transgenerational, personal, or cultural, disrupts our ability to process experiences and burdens us like carrying rocks. Henk shared personal stories and biblical examples to illustrate the need for healing, highlighting Caleb's wholeheartedness and David's brokenheartedness. He encouraged self-inventory and seeking Jesus' healing power for a life of purpose and fullness. If you missed it, you can catch up here: Henk's Sermon.

Unfortunately, there was no Listening & Responding episode this week. However, you can check out our latest blog, The Wounds That Pierce, for more insights.

This Sunday, we'll dive into Romans 8, exploring its powerful message of life in the Spirit and the freedom we have through Christ. Join us for this insightful message that promises to deepen our understanding of God's love and grace.

Afterward, swing by the Connect Cafe for some great coffee and even better conversations. It's the perfect chance to connect, chat about the sermon, and enjoy some community time. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Have you ever considered how unhealed wounds impact your spiritual journey? Reflecting on Henk's message, we're reminded that addressing our emotional and spiritual traumas is essential for true healing. What past hurts might be weighing you down, and how could seeking healing transform your walk with God? Take some time to think about how acknowledging and working through these wounds could lead to a more wholehearted and purpose-filled life. What steps can you take this week to start your healing journey?

As we move into this weekend, let's think about how Jesus' words from Isaiah 61 remind us of the healing He offers for the brokenhearted. Jesus made a way for a healing encounter with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. By recognizing our need for healing and seeking help within our community, we can experience true restoration. It starts with admitting our brokenness and finding safe people to walk with us on this journey. Remember, we heal in community and not in isolation. What steps can you take this week to embrace your healing journey?
