Corrections on Forts Fall. God Doesn’t.

We all build shelters. But only one is strong enough to carry your soul.

Hey there SCC Family !

Pardon Our Oops
Yesterday’s email had a couple hiccups—thanks for catching them! Apparently, we tried to host breakfast at 7 PM and moved Saturday without warning. To clarify: Men’s Breakfast is at 8 AM, not in the evening (because that’s just dinner). And Henk’s book launch is on Saturday, September 13, not the 14th.
Thanks for rolling with us—and maybe double-checking your calendar.
⬇️ ⬇️ Below you’ll find yesterday’s email, now with the right details in place. ⬇️ ⬇️

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 36!

Fort-building might seem like kids’ play, but most of us are still doing it—just with better materials and more stress. In Sunday’s message, Come Dwell: Choosing God’s House Over Our Own Structures, Tracy invited us to stop propping up our lives with what can’t last. God doesn’t offer a quick escape; He offers a true home. A place to breathe again, to be reoriented, and to rest in the One who never fails.

Holiday Mondays: great for rest, not for remembering what day it is.

The blog is the reset you didn’t know you needed. It’s a quick but meaningful read that’ll meet you right where you are—blanket fort not required. No Between the Shores episode this week (holiday mode), but the playlist is still loaded if you want to catch up.

Not a big reader? We get it—sometimes you just need a good message in your ears.

Our Sunday messages are up as a podcast every week. Perfect for your next walk, drive, or dishwashing session. Just search Summerside Community Church on Apple Podcasts or Spotify You can also watch the full message anytime on our website’s sermon hub.

Office hours are back to full speed!
Natasha is in the office Monday through Thursday—and starting this week, we’re open Friday mornings again too. If you need to drop something off, ask a question, or just say hi, we’re here.

We’re heading into Week 9 of our We Believe series, and Joel will be unpacking what it means to be part of a Church that’s united in purpose, rooted in truth, and sent into the world. It’s a big topic with real implications for how we live, lead, and love—right here, right now.

We’re grateful for every act of generosity that helps fuel the mission here at SCC. Here’s a quick look at where we landed for August!

As we step into September, we want you to know that 10% of all general fund giving this month will go directly to Loaves & Fishes—a ministry that’s making a real impact by feeding our local community. Every dollar given makes a difference, and this month, it’s helping put food on tables and hope in hearts. Thank you for giving faithfully, prayerfully, and with purpose.

  • Interests – Painting, fitness, hobbies

  • Needs – Loaves & Fishes, service teams, practical support

Projects – Short-term groups for events, missions, and more

There’s a steady peace that seems to follow Siphiwe wherever she goes—and our nursery is better because of it. Her reliability, warmth, and care speak volumes, even when she says very little. We’re so thankful for the way she loves our littlest ones and helps create a space where they can feel safe and seen.

Looking to get more involved? Joining a team is a great way to build community, discover your strengths, and help others experience Jesus along the way. From making coffee to running slides, greeting at the door to helping with kids—there’s a place for you. Let’s find it together.

Prayer Wall
Did you know there’s a prayer wall on our website? You can share a request or lift others up by reading and praying through what’s been posted. Just click the “Next Steps” circle on the bottom right at summersidecommunity.church—and be part of what God’s doing through prayer.

There’s always something unfolding in the life of our church—and we don’t want you to miss it. Take a few minutes to visit the website for upcoming events, sign-ups, and ways to get involved. It’s the easiest way to stay in step with everything happening at SCC.

As You Step Forward
Some things fall apart so better things can hold. When our self-made shelters start to crumble, it’s not failure—it’s invitation. God doesn’t wait for perfection; He meets us in the wilderness, speaks tenderly, and leads us home. So this week, stop striving. Let Him be your refuge. Let Him be enough.

See You Sunday- We love doing life and faith with you. Let’s keep showing up, lifting Jesus high, and living it out together.

P.S. You were made to dwell with Him, not just survive. Let this week be rooted in that.
