Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to the 29th edition of The Bridge—where each Thursday brings us new stories and insights to ponder. Ever noticed how sometimes the right message feels like it was just meant for you?
This week, Tommie Zito delivered a moving sermon on the power of love and the vital role of Jesus within our community. Drawing on the biblical story where only one out of ten lepers returned to express gratitude to Jesus, Tommie urged us to embody that same rare thankfulness in our lives. His message encourages us to be authentic in our faith and to live in genuine gratitude to Jesus in the midst of today’s societal shifts. You can catch the full sermon here. Don’t miss out on the evangelism and revival meetings happening at Faithworks Centre, 1288 Loyalist Rd. The series continues tonight at 7 PM and will carry on with sessions at 10 AM and 7 PM on both Friday and Saturday. It’s a perfect opportunity to deepen our engagement with God’s work on PEI.
Join us tomorrow, July 19th, at 1:00 PM at SCC as some of Tommie’s team leads us in street evangelism right here in Summerside. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn effective ways to share Jesus’ love directly within our community. My (Tracy’s) recent experience at a Healing School session was incredibly inspiring, and spending time at Victoria Park with Cheryl from Tommie’s team showed just how joyful and fulfilling it is to lead others to Jesus. Engaging more deeply in these activities really enhances our daily walk as followers of Jesus, affirming us as His sons and daughters living in the house of love. The boldness and joy the Holy Spirit brings make following Jesus’ call to spread the good news truly exhilarating. Don’t miss out on this chance to grow and connect with us. If you can’t join us or want to catch up on what’s been happening, check out the recorded sessions on Faithworks’ YouTube channel HERE. This could be a pivotal step in your faith journey!
When you listen to a sermon, podcast, or read a teaching, what are you tuning in for? With so many voices out there, it’s essential to be rooted in the Bible first and foremost. If something doesn’t align with Scripture, it’s an easy pass. But when we’re truly grounded, we learn to discern God’s voice amidst the noise—both around us and inside us.
This week, let’s engage deeply with Tommie’s message. What echoes of truth did you hear that resonate with what you’ve been learning or experiencing? Are we living each day transformed by our encounters with Jesus, as the apostle Paul was? Let’s keep our ears open for God’s voice, like rain, confirming His truths in our lives.
Don’t forget to watch Tracy’s latest episode of Listening & Responding for more insights here. Let’s continue to seek clarity and live out God’s kingdom here and now.

This Sunday, we’re excited to have Henk Visser share a powerful message titled “Abundant Life after Trauma: From Shame to Sons & Daughters.” Henk will explore how toxic shame often lies at the heart of unhealed soul wounds, leading to what he describes as “orphan thinking.” It will be an eye-opening discussion on moving beyond shame and stepping into our true identities as beloved sons and daughters of God.
Don’t head home right after the service—hang out with us at Connect Cafe! It’s the perfect place to chat about the sermon and catch up with friends over some coffee.

How do we carry Sunday’s lessons into the rest of our week? It’s easy to feel inspired while we’re in church, but what happens when Monday rolls around? Imagine if every choice we made and every conversation we had reflected our Sunday learnings—how might that change the way we interact with the world around us?
True discipleship is about more than just showing up to church; it’s about bringing the gospel to life wherever we go. It challenges us to think: Are our daily actions just going with the flow, or are they vibrant displays of our faith? This isn’t about just appearing devout—it’s about a deep, active faith that really engages with the world in meaningful ways.
We’re called to make an impact, and not just within church walls. Every moment is an opportunity to practice what we preach, turning our spiritual insights into real-world actions. What could this look like for you? Maybe it’s offering a kind word in a tough moment or taking a stand for what’s right in your community.
Let’s challenge ourselves to live out our faith daily, not just talk about it. This way, our faith becomes a series of small acts that can ripple out and create big changes.
If you’re looking for more thoughts on how to weave your faith into your daily life, check out our latest blog here. Let’s be the kind of believers who don’t just hear the word but actively live it, making a real difference wherever we are.

As we look ahead, let’s think about what our community’s role might be during these challenging times. On Sunday, we heard a stirring vision: our church is like a call center, not just taking calls but actively reaching out during a global crisis. This is a call for each of us to step up. We’re encouraged to prepare in every way—spiritually, physically, and financially—to lend a hand where it’s needed most.
This vision isn’t about causing fear but about making us stronger, bringing us closer to God, and inspiring us to act with compassion and boldness. Imagine our church as an Apostolic Hub, reaching out beyond our walls, with evangelism driving us forward. The Lord is handing us strategies and plans, gearing us up to make a real difference, especially here on our island.
So, let’s step into this with courage and trust, embracing the roles we’re meant to play. Let’s answer this call with open hearts and a readiness to serve, making an impact that truly reflects our faith.
Thanks for taking a moment to catch up with us in this edition of The Bridge Weekly. We love sharing this journey with you and can't wait to connect again next week!

P.S. In a world full of voices, it’s crucial to stay rooted in Scripture to discern God’s voice. Like rain, His message is consistent and reaffirms His truths. This week, let’s tune in carefully—does what you hear align with the Bible? Let’s make sure we follow God’s melody, not just the noise around us.
