What are you weaving into your life this week?

Hello SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 18.
Not every stitch is flashy—but every stitch counts. If Pinterest has taught us anything, it’s that some things are better handmade—and according to Colby, that includes your wedding garment. This past Sunday’s message, The Wedding Garment of Faithfulness, reminded us that the Church—the Bride of Christ—is being made ready not through spotlight moments, but through hidden ones. Quiet sacrifices. Private prayers. Small acts of obedience that stitch something lasting. It’s not about being seen. It’s about being ready.

This Sunday, continuing our Jesus-Shaped Life series, Tracy will walk us through Philippians 3:1–11 and what it really means to know Jesus personally—not just know about Him.
Paul reminds us that true joy and transformation don’t come from status, knowledge, or success—they come from knowing Jesus intimately. His story invites us to examine where we place our worth and to trade our credentials for a relationship that changes everything.
We’ll be exploring:
The surpassing worth of knowing Christ
What it means to live from identity, not achievement
How personal intimacy with Jesus leads to lasting transformation
Let’s come ready to trade what’s temporary for what’s eternal—and discover again the joy of truly knowing Him.

Tracy’s Sabbatical starts soon! Starting May 12, Tracy begins a three-month sabbatical—a rhythm we honour every seven years as a space for rest, renewal, and spiritual refreshment. The first month will be vacation, followed by two months set aside for prayer, study, and time with God.
Rest isn’t just good practice—it’s part of God’s design. Just as the land was given a sabbath in Scripture, those who lead need space to pause, listen, and be refilled. This isn’t stepping away—it’s stepping back to be strengthened.
It’s also a season for us as a church to lean in. Sabbaticals make room for new voices, shared leadership, and deeper trust in the One who builds His Church. Let’s be praying—for Tracy, and for all of us—as we walk into this season with openness and expectation.

Outdoor Spring Cleaning! Got an hour (or two) to spare? Join us on Saturday, May 10 at 10:00 AM as we shake off winter and freshen up the grounds. We’ll be clearing debris, tidying the parking lot, trimming trees, and hauling broken branches.
Flowerbeds will wait for warmer weather—we’ll tackle those on May 28 from 9:00–12:00.

Human trafficking doesn’t just happen somewhere else—it happens here too. On Monday, May 26 at 6:30 PM at Centre 150, EVENforONE is hosting a free, eye-opening community event.
You’ll hear real stories, learn how to recognize the signs, and discover how we can respond with wisdom and compassion. It’s time to break the silence and stand together. Let’s show up, learn, and say as one: Not on my Island.

Looking to Serve? We’re currently looking for a few friendly faces and helping hands to join our volunteer teams. If you’d like to help with communion setup or serve as an inner door greeter, we’d love to have you on board! It’s a simple but meaningful way to support what God is doing here each Sunday—and a great way to get connected, too.

If you enjoy making people feel at home or love the behind-the-scenes stuff that keeps things running smoothly, this could be a great fit.

Terry Arsenault has quietly become one of those people who seems to be everywhere at once—in the best way. He recently stepped up to help lead our tech team, serves with the youth group, and you might spot him with the New Wine Worship team or creating chalkboard art in the café. From creative arts to behind-the-scenes support, Terry brings energy, skill, and a servant’s heart wherever he goes—and we’re so thankful for him.
Stay Connected - There’s more happening than what fits in one email. Visit our website anytime to explore ways to grow, serve, and stay in the loop. You might just find your next step waiting there.
Life between Sundays might feel ordinary—but it’s anything but meaningless. Every unseen yes, every quiet prayer, every small act of obedience is a thread in something eternal. Like a garment being woven, our faithfulness—however hidden—is noticed by the One who matters most. So this week, let’s keep listening, keep saying yes, and keep weaving lives that reflect Jesus.
Thanks for journeying with us—your presence and participation matter more than you know. We’ll see you Sunday!

P.S. You don’t have to strive to prove anything—just stay close to Jesus. He’s the one who gives what’s needed and finishes what He starts in you.

Enjoying The Bridge Weekly? Pass it on! Sharing with a friend is a simple way to stay connected and spread the word. Every email is crafted with care—and your support helps keep the whole community in the loop.
