Feeling Stuck? This Might Be Why.
The oil isn’t earned—it’s received. Why the Holy Spirit matters more than ever.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 14!
If the Tin Man taught us anything, it’s this: a little oil goes a long way. In the final message of The Oil series, Heather reminded us that this isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning. Over the past several weeks, we’ve seen how the Holy Spirit fills us with oil so we can stay lit, stay ready, and live poured-out lives for Jesus. And here’s a little thought for you: just like a car runs smoothly only when its tank is full, our hearts need the oil of the Holy Spirit to keep moving forward with God.
Heather shared how God stirred her heart in the quiet of the night with Jeremiah 33:3—“Call to Me and I will answer you…” That gentle invitation led her into a deeper awareness of our need for daily dependence on the Holy Spirit. Real worship, she said, isn’t just music—it’s about responding to God face-to-face in the quiet places of our spirit. Like the Tin Man getting oiled, we need the Spirit to keep us from growing stiff or stuck. The oil isn’t earned—it’s received in His presence.
Also, note that Heather stepped in for Tracy with Joel on the Between the Shores podcast this week—don’t miss their conversation about how we live this message between Sundays. Miss Sunday’s message—or just feeling like you need a little midweek reset? The blog’s got you. It’s a quick read, but it’s packed with the kind of reminders we all need about how the Holy Spirit meets us in everyday life. Think of it as a moment to pause, breathe, and refocus your heart. A few minutes well spent.
Did you know that our Sunday messages are published as a podcast as well as a YouTube video? If you prefer to listen rather than watch, you can find them on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Just search for Summerside Community Church. | ![]() |

This Sunday, Tracy is launching a new 8-week series: A Jesus-Shaped Life – Letting Jesus’ Story Shape Your Identity and Daily Life. We’ll be walking through Philippians, exploring how Jesus’ life reshapes who we are and how we live—especially in a world full of distractions.
Each week, we’ll unpack themes like:
Identity in Christ: Discover who you truly are beyond circumstances.
Joyful Living: Find a joy that’s constant, no matter the situation.
Humble Imitation: Embrace a life modeled after Jesus’ servant-heart
Kingdom Perspective: Learn to align your daily life with eternal values.
Get ready for a journey that’s practical, challenging, and centered on the kind of life Jesus modeled—full of purpose, peace, and deep connection.

From April 7 to 28, we’ll be gathering each evening from 6:30–7:30 PM at SCC for one hour of focused prayer. (Tuesdays will be on Zoom.) With elections approaching, we’re setting aside time to pray for Canada—asking God to move in our nation with wisdom, healing, and hope. Let’s seek His will over our land and believe together for a season shaped by peace, clarity, and His presence.

Senior Connect Group- Every Wednesday from 10 AM to 1 PM, our Senior Connect Group gathers for a time of worship, testimonies, teaching, open discussion, and prayer. When Sherla MacNeil’s cookies show up, you know it’s going to be a good day. Her delicious treats have a way of making cleaning days, painting projects, and community events feel a little more special. It’s her thoughtful way of showing up—with sugar, kindness, and perfect timing. We’re so grateful for the love she puts into every batch.
Your presence matters here. If you haven’t explored our WEBSITE lately, go take a look—you might just find your next way to jump in, connect, or be encouraged. Every click opens the door to something more.
As we head into the weekend, let’s be honest—some days feel dry, stiff, or just plain stuck. But the invitation still stands: come and be filled. The Holy Spirit isn’t reserved for perfect moments or perfect people. He meets us in the middle of the mess, softens what’s hardened, and breathes life into what’s weary. We don’t need to perform or prove anything—we just need to show up. The oil flows where there’s surrender. And the beauty is, God doesn’t just offer us strength—He offers us Himself.
Thanks for being part of the journey—it’s a gift to walk this out together. We’re looking forward to seeing you again on Sunday!

P.S. Worship begins with breath—receiving before we respond. As we move into this new series on letting Jesus’ story shape us, maybe that’s the best place to begin: not by doing more, but by resting in who He is and letting His presence reshape who we are.
