Fire in the Waiting

The Holy Spirit still meets people who wait on Jesus.

Hey there SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 3. Issue 22!
Ten days in an upper room probably felt longer than expected. The disciples prayed, waited, sang, and held onto the words Jesus had spoken. Then the Holy Spirit came with power, fire, and a fresh boldness centered on Him.

Pentecost reminds us that God is still drawing near to His people. Jesus continues to fill, guide, and steady ordinary people who make room for His presence in everyday life. Take a few moments this week to slow down and listen again for His voice.

Continue the Pentecost conversation through this week’s blog and Between the Shores podcast as we explore the Spirit who fills, leads, and draws people closer to Jesus.

This Sunday, Joel will continue our Holy Spirit series with a message called Formed From Within. This week will focus on how the Spirit shapes our inner world over time, renewing our minds, softening our hearts, and anchoring our identity more deeply in Jesus through everyday faithfulness.

Congratulations to Toby Gillis & Kristen Arsenault on the birth of their baby girl Autumn Theresa Gillis, born on May 26. If you have anything to drop off, please let the office know by responding to this email.

We’re creating space to celebrate birthdays as a church family this year. You can add your birthday to the jar at the Hub or use the button below to email the office so we can celebrate with you in the months ahead.

Every quarter we set aside part of our general fund giving toward a special mission or outreach project. Thank you for helping us support the YWAM Niagara Mission Trip this month through your generosity and prayers.

Agnes and Hector Gonzales have shared 29 years of marriage shaped by faith, hospitality, and a genuine love for people. From the Philippines to Summerside, they continue to carry a steady joy that encourages those around them. Agnes brings warmth and laughter wherever she goes, and Hector has a calm presence that helps people feel at home. We love you for who you are, and we’re thankful you’re part of this family.

We love you for who you are. We’re thankful you’re part of this family.

Take a step into the life of our church this week. You can explore what’s coming up, find a place to connect, or join a team as you’re ready. We’d love to help you find your place.

Pentecost began with people who were willing to wait, pray, and trust that Jesus would keep His promise. God still meets people in that same place today. As you move through this week, take a few quiet moments to slow down, release the need to control every outcome, and invite the Holy Spirit to keep forming the life of Jesus within you.

Thanks for being part of this church family. It’s a gift to keep learning to follow Jesus together.

P.S. The Holy Spirit still meets people in the waiting.

If this email has been meaningful to you, feel free to share it with a friend. It’s one simple way to stay connected and invite others in.
