From the Garden to the Gap
The story has always been about Jesus—the One who steps into what’s broken and begins to restore.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 30!
It’s hard to fix what you won’t step into.
This week, Heather brought us back to the beginning—Genesis—where the story of God and humanity began in the garden. Even when trust was broken, God didn’t abandon the story. He planted a promise. That promise took on flesh in Jesus, who stepped into our brokenness not to patch it up, but to restore it fully. Drawing from Isaiah 58, Heather reminded us that Jesus is the true Repairer of the Breach—and now, we’re invited to live the same way: showing up in the broken places with healing, hope, and the presence of God.
![]() | Listen on the Go! You can catch Sunday’s message in podcast form—available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Just search Summerside Community Church and listen anytime. You can also watch the full message anytime on our website’s sermon hub. |
The blog captures the heart of Sunday’s message in a way that’s clear, thoughtful, and worth your time. If you’re looking to revisit what we explored together, it’s a great place to start. There’s no Between the Shores episode this week, but you can always catch up on past conversations over on our YouTube playlist.

Need to stop by or connect with someone during the week? The office is open Monday through Thursday. Just a heads-up: we’re still keeping Friday mornings closed through the summer, so plan accordingly.

This Sunday, Joel will continue our We Believe series with a message centered on the life of Jesus—what it means that He was born, lived, and was crucified for us. It’s a look at how His story reshapes our own, and how His humanity reveals the heart of God.

Elev8 Youth – No Gathering Tonight
Just a heads-up—there’s no Elev8 Youth tonight. Enjoy the evening, and we’ll see you back next week!

Paused This Saturday
There will be no True North prayer gathering this Saturday due to a scheduled event at Centre 150. We’ll be back next weekend—thanks for your flexibility!

📌 This week was all about pitching in behind the scenes—cleaning up around the church, calling volunteers, and organizing camp sign-up sheets for New Glasgow. Gracie and Nathan are getting a firsthand look at how ministry often happens in the little things—and how love shows up in unexpected places.
Highlights! “A highlight for me was calling and meeting new people.” – Gracie Mae “A highlight for me was putting people into the church system.” – Nathan | Challenges! Reaching out to new volunteers and getting them set up in the system—turns out, it’s harder than it sounds! |
This weeks lessons…
“God is speaking to me, but I’m learning to discern if it’s His voice, my own, or the enemy’s.” – Gracie Mae | “I’m learning to believe in myself the way God does—and to trust Him in everything.” – Nathan |
Bonus takeaway
Ministry comes with a lot of moving parts—but also a surprising amount of love.

Baptism Sunday is coming up on August 3, and we’d love to walk with you if this step has been on your heart. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward surrender—a way to say, “I’m all in.” If you’ve been feeling the nudge or have questions, we’d be glad to chat. You can sign up below or stop by the Hub to start the conversation.

We’ve got a new date—and you’re invited!
Right after church on Sunday, August 24, we’ll gather for our SCC Family BBQ. It’s an easygoing afternoon with good food, familiar faces, and a chance to slow down together. Bring a dish if you can, or just bring yourself. Either way, we’d love to see you there.
Gracie and Nathan are helping coordinate volunteers for the day—if you’d like to lend a hand, there are sign-up sheets at the Hub for both food and volunteer roles. Every little bit helps!

Where in the World is SCC Going in 2026?
Clue #4: 🛢️ It’s going to be a BARREL of fun!
We’re planning something meaningful, memorable, and just a little wild. Faith will be stretched, joy will overflow, and we’ll have stories to tell for years to come. Stay tuned for more details—we can’t wait to share what’s ahead.
Quarterly Missions Giving Update –
This past Sunday, we heard from Camp Shiktehawk—one of the ministries we’re proud to support through our missions giving. Located in New Brunswick, this camp is creating space for kids and teens to experience Jesus through nature, friendship, and discipleship. Your generosity helps make that possible.

Rest is more than stepping back—it’s stepping into His presence. As the week unfolds, make room to be quiet, to listen, and to remember who goes with you. | “Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.” —Psalm 89:15 |

As You Step Forward
Before the fall, before the failure—there was a garden, and a God who walked with us. That story hasn’t changed. Jesus stepped into what was broken, not to escape the pain, but to restore what was lost. As we head into the week, let’s walk like people who’ve been rebuilt—soft-hearted, Spirit-led, and ready to show up where things feel torn. The breach isn’t the end of the story. It’s the place Jesus begins to build again.
See You Sunday- We love doing life and faith with you. Thanks for showing up, leaning in, and being part of what God is building here.

P.S. Every repair starts with presence. Jesus stepped into the broken places—and now, we get to follow Him there. Don’t underestimate what God can do through a willing heart.
