Fully God. Fully Human. Fully Present.

The mystery of Jesus isn’t for solving—it’s for surrendering to.

Hey there SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 29!
Some truths aren’t meant to be explained—they’re meant to shake us.

This week, Joel led us into the mystery of who Jesus really is: fully God, fully human, the eternal Word made flesh. He’s not just a glimpse of God—He is God, revealed in a way we can know, follow, and trust. The more clearly we see Jesus, the more clearly we find our place, our hope, and our hallelujah.

Listen on the Go! You can catch Sunday’s message in podcast form—available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Just search Summerside Community Church and listen anytime. You can also watch the full message anytime on our website’s sermon hub.

If Sunday feels like a blur, the blog is a quick way to catch the heart of what we walked through together. And if you’re more of a podcast person, the Between the Shores episode is ready to roll.

Need to pop by or get in touch? Natasha is in the office Monday to Thursday. With summer in full swing, the office takes a breather on Friday mornings—so plan ahead if you need anything before the weekend.

This Sunday, Heather is guiding us into week 5 of our We Believe series with a message about why Jesus came—not just how. We’ll be looking at what it means that He came down for us and for our salvation, and why the Incarnation changes everything.

This week was full of learning, listening, and a little bit of watering. Gracie and Nathan are back with a few highlights, challenges, and the things that are shaping them along the way:

📌 This week, we watered plants, filmed videos, dug into Experience Jesus by John Eldredge, and kept brainstorming ideas for the church barbecue. We’ve also been learning how to interpret God’s Word together—and rounding up volunteers along the way!

Highlights!

Gracie Mae’s highlight was being surrounded by the love of Jesus and sharing it throughout her day. Nathan’s highlight was starting each morning in the Word and carrying that peace into his work.

Challenges!

Gracie Mae found it hard to stay energized and focused during video learning. Nathan said some of the reading felt overstimulating at times.

This weeks lessons…

I’m learning more how to associate every day tasks with God and letting him be the center of my life by letting the Holy Spirit guide my day.
-Gracie Mae

I'm learning that I have taken advantage of the blessing God has given me, a roof over my head, air in my lungs and just knowing him so now I'm learning and wanting to go out and give to the unfortunate.
-Nathan

Bonus moments

Gracie Mae shared that a teaching from Joel on Body, Soul, and Spirit really spoke to her. Nathan’s verse of the week? “When I was a child, I spoke and reasoned like a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:11

Baptism Sunday is coming up on August 3, and if that next step has been stirring in your heart, we’d love to walk with you. It’s a step of trust, surrender, and celebration—and you don’t have to take it alone. Click below to connect or stop by the Hub for a conversation.

SCC Family BBQ – New Date!

We’ve moved the BBQ to Sunday, August 24—same plan, just a little later in the summer. After church, we’ll fire up the grill and enjoy some unhurried time together. Good food, familiar faces, and a chance to just be. Bring something to share if you can, or just bring yourself. Either way, you’re invited.
Let us know what you’re bringing by signing up below.

Where in the World is SCC Going in 2026?

Clue #3: 🤝 This city sits at a crossroads—and we’re bringing hope to the edges.

Where cultures collide and crowds pour in, we’re stepping in with open hands and servant hearts. It’s not about the spotlight—it’s about showing up with love, compassion, and purpose. More clues (and the big reveal) coming soon!

Quarterly Missions Giving Update –
This past Sunday, we heard from Rebecca—a client of Hope House, part of the Island Pregnancy Centre and one of the organizations we support through missions giving. Her story is a powerful reminder that generosity creates space for safety, community, and new beginnings. Take a moment to watch her story below—and see how your giving makes a difference. Stillness isn’t wasted time—it’s an act of trust. In a world that rewards hustle, choosing rest is a way of saying, “God, I trust You more than my to-do list.”

Josh Ramsay might be one of the quietest people in the room—but don’t let that fool you. His calm, thoughtful presence makes a big impact in Kids Ministry, especially with kids who need a little extra care. He’s quick to notice, steady when it counts, and always ready with a good riddle. We’re thankful for the way he shows up and makes space for others to feel seen.

There’s a place for you here. Serving on a team isn’t just about filling a spot—it’s about finding your fit, building relationships, and helping others encounter Jesus along the way. Love people, coffee, kids, or tech? There’s a team that would love to have you.

Walk This Out…
Not everything needs to be figured out right away. Some truths are meant to be lived, not explained. As you head into the week, resist the pull to have it all sorted. Instead, lean into the wonder. Let the mystery of Jesus—fully God, fully human—reshape your perspective, recenter your heart, and renew your trust.

See You Sunday- We love sharing life, faith, and moments like these with you. Thanks for showing up—and for being part of the story God is writing here.

P.S. The more clearly we see Jesus, the more clearly we see everything else. He is the fullness of God, the center of our hope, and the One who holds it all together—even when we can’t.
