God’s Not Done With You
You were made for more than survival—His dream for you still stands.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 41!
Here at SCC, we’re a community full of stories—and sometimes those stories carry some heavy chapters. But this Sunday, Dr. Mike Hutchings reminded us of something powerful: God’s dream for His people isn’t over. Through Psalm 23 and years of walking with those carrying deep wounds, he showed us how God restores not just the surface, but the soul. As a church, we’re learning to live from that truth—shaped not by trauma or old labels, but by the love and healing of our Shepherd.
Sometimes you need to hear it, and sometimes you need to sit with it. This week’s blog builds on Dr. Hutchings’ message with a reminder that restoration isn’t about going back—it’s about being rebuilt into something stronger, truer, and more whole. It’s a short read, but it lingers in all the right ways. | There was no Between the Shores podcast this week—Joel and Tracy are catching their breath after a full and meaningful conference weekend. But if you’re looking for something to listen to, the archive is full of great conversations, honest reflections, and teaching moments worth revisiting. Browse the playlist and find one that speaks to you. |

This Sunday, we’re kicking off our new series: Jesus Is Greater Than Everything. Tracy will introduce us to the letter of Colossians—a powerful reminder to stay rooted in Christ, even when culture pulls us in every direction. Paul writes with clarity and conviction: Jesus is the image of the invisible God, and the fullness of God dwells in Him.

We’ve got a bit of a plot twist coming up! Due to a planned power outage in the industrial park on Sunday, October 19, our service will start one hour earlier at 9:00 AM. And since we like to keep the lights on when we meet new people, the Connect Fair will now take place on Sunday, October 26 instead. Mark your calendars—we can’t wait to help you find your group!

Still Looking for Your People?
It’s not too late to find your fit. The Connect Fair on Sunday, October 26 is a laid-back chance to browse what’s happening, meet a few leaders, and see if something clicks. Most groups are already up and running, but there’s still room at the table. If community has felt a little out of reach this season, consider this your open door.
Sneak Peek: The Daniel Plan Course
One of our interest groups launching this fall is The Daniel Plan—a faith-based approach to wellness that focuses on food, fitness, focus, and friendships.

This Saturday night’s prayer gathering will be held at 150 Gardiner Street (Freddy & Caroline’s home) due to a rental in the building. We’ll start at 6:30 PM as usual—come ready to pray, listen, and seek Jesus together.

We’re so thankful for the generosity that fuels the mission here at SCC. This weekend, we’re highlighting one of the ministries your giving supports in a big way—Celebrate Recovery. Each year, we take up a special Thanksgiving offering to bless this vital ministry, and you’ll hear a bit more about it in the video below. If you’d like to give, just mark “Celebrate Recovery” on your envelope or include it in the memo of your e-transfer.

Come Join the Team Our teens are showing up, asking big questions, and growing in their faith—and they need adults who will show up with them. Elev8 Youth is looking for volunteers to help create a safe, welcoming space on Thursday nights. You don’t need to have all the answers—just a willingness to listen, encourage, and be present. Whether you love high-energy games or quiet conversations, there’s a place for you on the team. Talk to Colby if you’re interested! | ![]() |

“He restores my soul.” Psalm 23 points us toward a kind of rest that rebuilds from the inside out. Rest is a rhythm we’re invited into—one that makes space for God’s presence, steady and kind. As the week unfolds, pause when you can. Let stillness become a place where you remember you are held.

Noelle Caron may be quiet, but her presence speaks volumes. She serves faithfully on the Connect Café team, helps prepare communion, and pitches in with Loaves and Fishes. She’s even been spotted washing windows—just because it needed to be done. Noelle’s steady presence and servant heart are a quiet strength in our church family, and we’re so grateful for the way she shows up.
Looking to get more involved? Joining a team is a great way to build community, discover your strengths, and help others experience Jesus along the way. From making coffee to running slides, greeting at the door to helping with kids—there’s a place for you. Let’s find it together.
