He’s Closer Than You Think
He makes Jesus real—every day.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 35!
When it comes to the Holy Spirit, a lot of us carry quiet confusion. Is He a power? A presence? An invisible force that makes things weird—or just makes them work?
In Sunday’s message, Colby reminded us that the Spirit isn’t a vague force or an optional extra. He’s the Lord, the Giver of Life—equal with the Father and the Son. The early church fought to make that clear, and the Nicene Creed echoes it still.
The Spirit’s role? To make Jesus real. He opens blind eyes, lifts veils, and fills ordinary lives with courage, clarity, and holy love. He brings presence—God with us—and power, so we can live like Jesus in both public and private.
As Colby said: when the Spirit is welcomed, people leave talking about Jesus.
Maybe you’ve heard about the Holy Spirit for years—or maybe this was the first time it all started to click. Either way, the blog captures the heart of Sunday’s message in a way that helps it stay with you throughout the week. It’s short, clear, and full of reminders that this faith we walk out isn’t powered by willpower—it’s fueled by His presence.
And if listening fits better in your rhythm, the Between the Shores podcast is ready too. It’s real conversation, honest questions, and lots of space to keep growing.
| | Listen on the Go! You can catch Sunday’s message in podcast form—available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Just search Summerside Community Church and listen anytime. You can also watch the full message anytime on our website’s sermon hub. |

Natasha is in the office Monday to Thursday—and starting next week, the office is open again on Friday mornings. If you need anything before the weekend, you can now stop by or reach out through the usual channels.

This week, Tracy is back on stage with a message about refuge—but not the kind we build for ourselves. She’ll be talking about the kind of rest that comes when we dwell in His house, walk His paths, and trust the Spirit to keep our hearts close when we’re prone to wander.
Jeremiah 6:16 offers a gentle but challenging word: “Ask where the good way is… and walk in it, and you will find rest.” But it also reminds us that rest isn’t automatic. We have to say yes to it.
As Tracy shares from her own journey and the story of the prodigal, we’ll see how the Holy Spirit gently reveals what’s in the way—so we can come home, again and again.
We’re grateful for every act of generosity that helps fuel the mission here at SCC. Here’s a quick look at where we landed for August!

| | As we step into September, we want you to know that 10% of all general fund giving this month will go directly to Loaves & Fishes—a ministry that’s making a real impact by feeding our local community. Every dollar given makes a difference, and this month, it’s helping put food on tables and hope in hearts. Thank you for giving faithfully, prayerfully, and with purpose. |

We’re getting ready to launch our 2025–2026 Connect Groups—and while the full list is still coming together, here’s a little preview of what’s ahead.

It’s open to all fitness levels—including beginners and seniors—and runs by donation, with all proceeds supporting Loaves & Fishes. Classes begin Thursday, September 11 at 10:15 AM at SCC. Don’t forget to bring a fitness mat!

Rayna Goddard brings a quiet superpower to SCC Kids—kindness with backbone. She has a natural way of connecting with children, offering comfort, direction, and a whole lot of care. Kids are drawn to her calm confidence, and so are we. Whether she’s leading an activity or stepping in to help behind the scenes, Rayna shows up with heart—and we’re better for it.

There’s always something unfolding in the life of our church—and we don’t want you to miss it. Take a few minutes to visit the website for upcoming events, sign-ups, and ways to get involved. It’s the easiest way to stay in step with everything happening at SCC.
Before you go…
You don’t have to chase the Spirit—just stay open to where He’s already moving. As you head into the week, take time to notice the quiet invitations: the nudge to pause, the tug to pray, the moment where Jesus feels closer than expected.
Let’s walk slowly enough to keep in step with Him..
See You Sunday- We love doing life and faith with you. Let’s keep showing up, lifting Jesus high, and living it out together.

P.S. The Spirit gives power, yes—but also presence. This week, may you walk in both. You’re not doing this alone.
