Hey SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly #51! Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? With less than a week to go, the excitement is in the air! And with only one more Thursday left in the year, we’re dreaming about what’s ahead. What should we call our editions next year? Should we start fresh at #1 or try something like 2025.1 to mark the new year? Let us know your thoughts as we celebrate this joyful season and all God is doing in our community!
This past Sunday, Joel spoke on Luke 2:8-20, sharing the profound joy the shepherds experienced as they heard the angel’s announcement of Jesus’ birth. This joy, rooted in God’s presence and salvation, reminds us of His transformative love, breaking into the darkness with light and restoration. Joel challenged us to live in this joy daily, sharing it with others through love, forgiveness, and hope, reflecting the heart of Jesus.
Catch the full message here: Watch Joel’s Sermon.
This week, Tracy welcomed Heather Shea on Listening & Responding to dive deeper into worship and the joy found in God’s presence. Heather shares her heart for encountering God authentically and how worship transforms us, shifting our focus from performance to relationship. Starting in January, Heather will lead a six-week course, Authentic Worship: A Journey into His Presence, to help us grow as worshipers who encounter God deeply.
You can watch the full episode here: Watch Listening & Responding.See further down for sign-up details for the worship course—let’s start the new year with hearts aligned to the Father.

This Sunday, Colby will be speaking on “When Heaven Comes to Earth,” exploring the powerful hope and redemption that Jesus brings to our world. It’s a message about God’s unwavering promise to restore and renew, reminding us of His kingdom breaking into our lives with grace, humility, and victory. Let’s gather to reflect on the beauty of heaven touching earth through Jesus.

As the year draws to a close, we’re pausing to reflect on God’s incredible faithfulness. Through your generosity, lives have been transformed, relationships deepened, and Jesus’ love shared in meaningful ways. As you consider year-end giving, remember your partnership helps others encounter Jesus, grow as His disciples, and share His love. Let’s continue stewarding resources wisely, trusting God to use our contributions to bring renewal and transformation.

Is there a deeper joy that you could experience, one that goes beyond fleeting happiness? The angels’ announcement to the shepherds revealed more than a distant glow—it was an invitation to encounter God’s glory up close, sparking a joy rooted in His presence. This joy, explored in our latest blog, “His Glory, Our Joy,” isn’t dependent on perfect circumstances; it’s found in knowing that God is truly with us. Just as the shepherds stood in awe and wonder at Jesus’ birth, we, too, can embrace the lasting joy that comes from His redemptive work. Imagine how carrying that understanding might transform how we see ourselves, love others, and trust His greater story. Take a moment to read the blog HERE and reflect on how living in God’s glory-filled joy could not only fill your heart but overflow into the lives of those around you.

This week, we’re shining a light on Ron Goddard, whose heartfelt commitment and warm presence have blessed our church family in so many ways. Whether he’s serving on the Elder board, hosting Sunday services, welcoming everyone at the door, co-leading a connect group, or supporting the Young Adult group, we are so thankful for all the ways he makes our church family stronger. And let’s not forget his great laugh—just one more way he makes our community feel like home!
If his dedication has stirred something in your heart, we’d love for you to join us in making a difference. Our church thrives because of people like Ron; there’s always room for more hands and hearts. Let’s make an impact together!

As we head into the weekend, let’s pause and remember that God is full of joy—and He loves sharing it with us! His joy is so much more than a fleeting feeling; it’s rooted in His deep love for you and me. When we spend time with Him, He fills us up, strengthens us, and reminds us that we belong to Him. Worship is more than just what we do on Sundays—it’s about being with Jesus and letting His joy shape how we live. What’s one way you can make space to encounter Him this week? Let’s walk this journey together, encouraging each other and staying connected to the One who loves us more than we can imagine. Have a joy-filled week!
