Is your lamp full?
The Bridge Weekly Vol 2 Issue 12

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol. 2, Issue 12—twelve Thursdays into 2025! Are our lamps full?
This past Sunday, Tracy’s message unpacked Matthew 25:1-13, where ten bridesmaids waited for the Bridegroom—only half were truly prepared. Their story reminds us that readiness isn’t about timing but about living daily with hearts surrendered to Jesus.

We thought Tracy would be wrapping up the series last week, but there was just too much goodness to fit into one message! This Sunday, she continues with “Ready for the Bridegroom: A Mature Faith in an Age of Confusion” (Part 2). The focus? Living with an eternal perspective and receiving with joy what Christ has already accomplished. In a world that feels more uncertain by the day, God is not confused—our need for Jesus and the salvation He brings remains the same. Tracy will also explore what it means to live in the joy of our salvation and embrace our role as the bride waiting for her Groom. There’s something on this—come expectant!

Senior Connect Group – Wednesdays at SCC - Join us on Wednesdays from 10 AM – 1 PM for our Connect Group for Seniors—a time of worship, testimonies, teaching, open discussion, and prayer. Together, we’ll explore what it means to carry God’s kingdom as mature believers, bearing good fruit in every season of life. Each session wraps up with communion and lunch, offering both spiritual and relational nourishment.
We’re also looking for four volunteers to help with A/V, kitchen, and communion setup. If you’re interested in serving, let us know!

Join us Fridays from March 21 – April 11 (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM) for Lenten Lunches. Each gathering includes a 30-minute Lent service with music and a short devotion, followed by soup & biscuits. Come and support Tracy as she speaks at St. Paul’s tomorrow! | 📍 Locations: March 21 – St. Paul’s Catholic Church A free-will offering will support the Summerside Christian Council Student Bursary. A donation box will be available at each service. |

We’re welcoming the new season by freshening up every corner of our church. On March 26 & 29 from 9-12 pm, we’ll roll up our sleeves and tackle dusting, organizing, and tidying. It’s a chance to connect with familiar faces (and meet new ones) while taking pride in our shared home. Bring your favourite cleaning gloves, a good attitude, and any amount of time you can spare—every effort makes a difference. |

Easter at SCC! Easter is a reminder that Jesus was anointed to bring hope, healing, and new life. Join us as we celebrate His resurrection and the promise that His Spirit is still pouring out today. Throughout March, 10% of our General Fund is going to Kaleo International as they equip leaders and share Jesus worldwide. Kaleo Central in Kenya serves as the main base for their work in East Africa, where the goal is to complete 15 church buildings this year. These churches began as humble house gatherings—meeting under trees until the congregation outgrew their space—and now, local communities are acquiring land and even making their own bricks. With materials for essentials like trusses and a metal roof costing around $1500 CAD, Josue Muse highlights this as the greatest need right now. Your generosity makes a real impact, spreads the gospel, empowers others on their faith journey, and supports these transformative building projects. Thank you for giving and being part of sharing the good news of Jesus to the remote corners of the world.
Our Total so far is $2,005!!

Jamie Kelly may be new to our church, but he’s already jumping in with both feet! He’s been hard at work vacuuming the entire building—including the blinds—making our space clean and welcoming. We appreciate his willingness to serve and are so grateful to have him as part of our community!

As we head into this weekend, let’s reflect on what it means to be ready. Tracy’s message challenged us to consider the difference between wisdom and foolishness—not in a way that condemns, but as an invitation to prepare our hearts. Just like the wise bridesmaids, we don’t always know when the moment will come, but we can choose daily to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to live in surrender, and to trust that Jesus is enough. He desires a people who are fully His, a bride who is watching, waiting, and prepared. There’s something on this—may we be found ready.
Thanks for checking out this week’s Bridge Weekly! We’re glad you’re part of the conversation and hope you walk in God’s peace, love, and joy this week. We look forward to sharing more soon!

P.S. Readiness isn’t about predicting the timing—it’s about daily faithfulness. A mature faith stays anchored in Jesus, trusting His promises even when life feels uncertain. Let’s keep our lamps full and our hearts prepared.
