Loved First
Let His love shape you.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly. Thanks for taking a few moments to connect this week.
Love changes the way a life is lived when it is received deeply. Paul prayed that God’s people would be strengthened by the Holy Spirit, rooted in Christ’s love, and filled with the fullness of God.
Each ordinary day becomes another opportunity to remain close to Jesus. As His love settles more deeply into our lives, patience, forgiveness, humility, and compassion begin to grow. Take a quiet moment this week to notice where Holy Spirit is drawing your attention to His love.

Life is full of places that invite us to stay connected. A favourite chair, a well worn path, a kitchen table where conversations unfold. Jesus offers something even deeper. He invites us to make our home in Him. This Sunday, Joel continues the series with Abiding in Jesus, exploring how a life that remains close to Christ becomes steady, fruitful, and shaped by His love over time.
Around our church family, there are plenty of opportunities to worship, grow, serve, and spend time with one another. Visit our Digital Hub to explore what’s coming up, read the latest stories, and find a next step that fits where you are today. |
Every community is shaped by people who create a sense of belonging, and Neal and Cheryl Millman are two of those people. This October they celebrate twenty five years of marriage, a journey filled with faith, generosity, creativity, and plenty of laughter along the way. From opening their home to family, to serving others with willing hearts, to finding joy in the simple moments of everyday life, they have a way of helping people feel welcomed and cared for. Their story reflects the steady beauty of lives that continue to grow in the love of Jesus, and we’re deeply grateful to share this journey with them.
Worship in Unity doesn’t begin when the music starts on September 12. Across Prince Edward Island, churches are spending these weeks in prayer and fasting, making space to seek Jesus together. As we quiet the noise and turn our attention toward Christ, we’re asking Holy Spirit to draw His people closer to Him and to one another. Every quiet prayer, every moment of surrender, and every heart turned toward Jesus becomes part of a larger story that God is writing across our Island. May these weeks prepare us to worship with greater love, deeper humility, and a renewed desire to see Christ made known. | This week’s prayer prompt is simple: Unite. Jesus prayed that His followers would be one, and that unity becomes a powerful witness to the world around us. Set aside a little extra time this Saturday to thank God for the churches across Prince Edward Island, pray for those who faithfully serve in them, and ask Holy Spirit to strengthen the bonds of love, humility, and grace that draw His people together. As you pray, leave a little room for silence and simply be with Jesus, listening for His voice. |
If you’ve ever prayed, “Jesus, I want to know You. I want to be like You,” take heart. God heard that prayer. The journey that followed may not have looked the way you imagined, yet every season has carried His faithful presence. The joys, the disappointments, the waiting, the questions, and even the moments that seemed to make little sense have all become part of the story He is writing in your life. Looking back, you may begin to see that He has been answering your prayer in ways you never expected, patiently shaping His heart within you through every step of the journey. He knows your story, He hasn’t left your side, and He continues to draw you closer, filling your life with a fresh love for Him and for the people around you.
So grateful to share this life of following Jesus with you.

P.S. Pause for a few moments today and simply pray, “Jesus, I’m here.”
If this email has been meaningful to you, feel free to share it with a friend. It’s one simple way to stay connected and invite others in.
