More of Him, Less of Me
Let Jesus grow larger in your life.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 46!
If life came with a volume knob, this week’s message would tell us to turn ourselves down a little. Colby shared from Colossians 3 about what it means to let Jesus increase, to live with a slower, deeper faith where our identity and purpose flow from Him alone. John the Baptist said it best: “He must increase, and I must decrease.” That isn’t about disappearing; it is about making space for Jesus to live fully through us. As we yield our habits, desires, and ambitions, His peace, clarity, and love begin to fill the room.
Need a midweek recharge? This week’s blog gives you a quick glimpse into Sunday’s message and a little nudge to keep your heart centered on Jesus. It’s short, simple, and full of truth for the week ahead. | Prefer to listen instead? The Between the Shores podcast breaks down Sunday’s message with fresh insights and a few laughs along the way. It’s a great companion for your next walk, drive, or coffee break. |

This week, Heather will be speaking from Colossians 3:18–4:1 about how following Jesus reshapes our closest relationships. It is an honest look at control, humility, and what it means to reflect Christ in our families, workplaces, and daily lives. Maturity shows up not in power or pride but in the quiet strength of love that puts others first.
Pre-Service Prayer
Starting this Sunday, our prayer team will be available from 9:30 to 10 a.m. before the service. If you have a prayer need or would like someone to pray with you, meet the team in front of the Prayer Room in the Great Room. It is a simple way to quiet your heart and invite God’s presence before the morning begins.

Caring for orphans has been part of SCC’s heartbeat since the beginning. It is something God has woven into who we are as a church family. As we recognize Adoption Month, let us pray that we keep walking in that legacy, continuing to love and care for the least of these, the way Jesus calls us to.
Prayer Focus: Pray for the ongoing mission of SCC. Ask God to keep our church aligned with His heart for the orphan, supporting sustainable missions, and nurturing sons and daughters in places like Mozambique, Haiti, Gulu, Mombasa, Nain, and beyond. May every effort bring hope, restoration, and belonging to children around the world.

With Colby preparing to leave for Africa in February, we are looking for a part-time Custodian to help care for our church and Centre 150 facility. If you enjoy creating clean, welcoming spaces and working with a great team, this could be a perfect fit. The role includes regular cleaning, event support, and flexible hours. It could even work well for a couple who want to serve together.
We are also seeking a Youth Pastor with a heart for teens and a passion to help them know Jesus. This part-time role (16 hours a week) includes youth gatherings, mentoring, worship, and community events. If you love investing in young people and creating spaces for them to grow in faith, we would love to hear from you.
Colby’s cooking again!! Let’s support him by eating!

Thanks for being part of what God is building here. We love walking this out with you—and we’ll see you Sunday.

P.S. You never know what God might do when you give Him the mic. Stay tuned! He’s always speaking.
