Now Requires Faith

The Bridge #23

Hey there, SCC Family!

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly #23! As June unfolds, we are glad to continue our journey together. This week, guest speaker Bruce Belair inspired us with insights on the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives, emphasizing confession and community in spiritual growth. Bruce's message highlighted how personal struggles, when acknowledged and confessed, pave the way for a deeper connection with God and each other, turning our church into a vibrant center for transformation. Dive deeper into Bruce’s message here.

In our daily lives, let's appreciate the moments that may seem small but are profound touches of God’s presence. Whether it's a simple act of kindness or a deeply personal worship experience, each moment is a chance to practice faith and embrace the present. The church stands as a community where our struggles are met with support, encouraging us to grow and contribute to collective healing. What steps can you take today to engage more deeply with your community and turn your current challenges into opportunities for growth?

This Sunday, celebrate Father’s Day and our church family's graduates, Jon Ramsay, Jazmyn Gallant and Samuel Stretch. Congratulations to our graduates! Join us afterward at our Connect Cafe to enjoy good company and celebrate these milestones together.

Speaking of Graduates, did you know that SCC has a scholarship program? Our program supports both young and adult students with financial aid for courses that foster Christian growth. For more information click the button below!

It’s that time again! Every quarter, we allocate 10% of our giving for a month to a mission-based organization. This month, our focus is on Open Door Outreach. They work with women in our Provincial Correctional Centre and community, addressing addiction and drug-related crimes. Their intervention during incarceration and recovery helps break the cycle of crime for individuals and their families, creating change directly at the source. You can be a part of changing the cycle. Our Total so far is $1367!

Isn't it remarkable how God's presence elevates the ordinary to extraordinary? Imagine those quiet moments of worship where despite the crowd, you feel solely connected to Him. Consider how embracing the NOW, with faith, transforms our daily struggles into growth opportunities. How might your active participation in our church community not only enrich your spiritual life but also strengthen the bonds within? Think about the roles you play and the profound impact of collective support and prayer in navigating life's challenges. How can your actions today enrich your journey?

Who ensures our church lobby is sparkling clean and welcoming? That's Ruth! She diligently cleans our space, making everyone feel welcomed the moment they step through the door. Besides keeping things tidy, Ruth helps with our Thursday morning prayer and Sozo Ministry, nurturing spiritual growth and healing. Her commitment deeply enriches our church life, helping us all feel more at home.

Ever heard of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, where the excitement is as intense as the ocean's predators? This fun fact reminds us of a deeper truth: we thrive when we're together. Just like sharks often target isolated prey, life's challenges can feel overwhelming when faced alone. This week, let's draw closer, recognizing that our community in the church isn't just for support—it's vital for our individual and collective growth. Stay connected, stay involved, and let's navigate the waters of life as a unified family.

Thanks for spending a part of your day with us through this edition of The Bridge Weekly. We appreciate you joining our journey and look forward to connecting again next week!

P.S. Just as Jesus thrived in unlikely places, we too can flourish regardless of our circumstances. Think about how like Jesus—the root out of dry ground—you can grow in even the toughest conditions. Where might Jesus be seeking to sprout new growth in your life today? Let’s open our hearts wide to his presence, no matter our environment.
