Please Pray for the Garant Family

Hello SCC Family,

We want to share about a significant need within our church family. Greg and Catherine Garant’s daughter, Jackie, who lives in Ontario, has tragically lost everything in an apartment fire. The good news is that she and her four children are safe.

On Sunday, the apartment complex where Jackie and her children lived caught fire. The fire started two floors above their unit, and the only way firefighters could contain it was by cutting through the roof and flooding the building with water. Unfortunately, this caused damage all the way to the first floor. The firefighters have advised Jackie not to expect anything to be salvageable.

This is an unimaginably difficult time for Jackie and her family. Her children are 16 (boy), 13, 12, and almost 2 (girls). Jackie left the apartment in her slippers, and they now have only the clothes on their backs.

Thankfully, a place to live has been secured, and Jackie and the children will move in next week. The next immediate need is for basic furniture and clothing to help them settle into their new home.

Jackie is a single mom and a social worker who now faces the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding for her family.

We ask for your prayers for Jackie and the Garant family as they navigate this incredibly hard situation.
