Poured Out & Anointed

The Bridge Weekly Vol 2 Issue 10

Hey SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol. 2, Issue 10—where sometimes the quiet work offstage makes the loudest impact. This past Sunday, Colby reminded us that following Jesus isn’t about chasing recognition, but about embracing a poured-out, sacrificial life—just like lesser-known missionary Katy Barnwell, whose humble work on Bible translations shows that our most meaningful mission field may be right in our own neighborhood. This coming Sunday, as we adjust our clocks for daylight savings and lose an hour of sleep, let’s hold on to that message and continue living it out. As always, check out the links below for the blog and the Between the Shores podcast.

Did you know that our Sunday messages are published as a podcast as well as a YouTube video? If you prefer to listen rather than watch, you can find them on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Just search for Summerside Community Church.

Joel will continue our “Crushed, Poured, Prepared: Faith That Doesn’t Quit” series this Sunday with “Poured Out: Living as a Witness to the Bridegroom.” Join us and discover how living sacrificially—pouring out your life in service and love—can become a powerful testimony to Jesus. Experience the inspiring example of the woman who anointed Jesus with costly oil, reminding us that even small acts of devotion reveal His heart. As you listen, consider how you might pour out your life for Him in practical ways in the everyday.

Gather25 is now available on demand! From the evening of February 28 to March 1, the global church gathered non-stop for 25 hours to worship, pray, repent, and be commissioned to share the good news—across 8 continents and in over 80 languages. Even in challenging times, the church that Jesus is building shines brightly around the world. We hope you’ll watch, be encouraged, and go shine His light wherever you are. Check it out at www.gather25.com.

If you haven’t picked up your tax receipts over the past couple of years, don’t worry—they’ve been mailed out and should be arriving in your mailbox soon.

Before we do anything, we’re called to be worshippers of Jesus. If you’re passionate about worship and looking to deepen your connection with Him, the worship intensive course is just for you.

This series offers practical insights from Scripture to help you grow in consistency and effectiveness in living a live of worship. Starting March 9th, join us on Sundays from 1–2 pm in the SCC Multipurpose Room for an inspiring time of prayer, learning, and discussion.

“I am in the mountains of Oaxaca right now. We are trying to open up missions with a tribe called the Triqui.” - Josue Ruse

Throughout March, 10% of our General Fund is going to Kaleo International as they equip leaders and share Jesus worldwide. Kaleo Central in Kenya serves as the main base for their work in East Africa, where the goal is to complete 15 church buildings this year. These churches began as humble house gatherings—meeting under trees until the congregation outgrew their space—and now, local communities are acquiring land and even making their own bricks. With materials for essentials like trusses and a metal roof costing around $1500 USD, Josue Muse highlights this as the greatest need right now. Your generosity makes a real impact, spreads the gospel, empowers others on their faith journey, and supports these transformative building projects. Thank you for giving and being part of sharing the good news of Jesus to the remote corners of the world.

As we head into this weekend—and with Lent having started yesterday—Colby’s message on being “anointed to reign” challenges us to live sacrificially, letting our true identity in Christ shine through. He reminded us that just as oil flows from pressed olives, our lives are meant to be poured out for others. In this season of reflection and sacrifice, may we embrace every moment of surrender and transformation, trusting that God is shaping us for His glory.

Thanks for checking out this week’s Bridge Weekly! We’re glad you’re part of the conversation and hope you walk in God’s peace, love, and joy this week. We look forward to sharing more soon!

P.S. Our anointing is a call to sacrifice, showing that true strength comes from laying down our lives for Jesus so His power can shine through us.
