Hey SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol. 2, Issue 6—where we’re pressing in for an overflow of God’s “oil” in our lives. Tracy’s message reminded us that, like olives must be crushed to produce oil, our faith grows through testing, refining, and being poured out for others. Check out the links below for Tracy and Joel’s Listening & Responding series and the latest blog.

This Sunday, Joel explores “Fruitfulness Under Pressure: The Crushing That Produces Oil.” It’s week 2 in our oil series, looking at how life’s challenges can shape our faith. The image of olives pressed to release oil illustrates how hardship refines and reveals strength we didn’t know we had. Pressing seasons can become the path to lasting fruitfulness, showing us a resilience that honours God.

Loaves & Fishes could use our help! They’re looking for a working fridge, 125 ml and 250 ml mason jars (or small jam jars), and totes with lids that fully close. If you have these items, it would make a real difference. You can also drop off bottles at Don’s Bottle Exchange and mention Loaves & Fishes (LAF) to have the proceeds donated. Let’s bless them together! |

This week, we’re celebrating Heather Nash! On Tuesday nights, she helps lead Celebrate Recovery, walking alongside those on their journey with encouragement and support. On Sundays, you’ll often find her behind the scenes on the AV team, making sure everything runs smoothly on the screens. We’re so grateful for Heather and all the ways she serves our SCC family!

As we wrap up, let’s remember why oil appears so often in Scripture: it’s a sign of how God shapes and readies us. Like olives crushed to release oil, we often find real growth in life’s challenging seasons. Oil can light lamps, heal wounds, and set people apart for meaningful service. Jesus, the “Anointed One,” shows us that this process may not be easy, yet it brings depth and strength to our faith. Let’s welcome the pressing, keep our hearts open, and trust that God is moving in every season, so we can shine His light wherever we go.

P.S. As we get ready for Sunday, think about the times life has felt pressing or heavy. Could God be using those moments, like crushed olives, to bring out a stronger and more enduring faith in you? Consider where He might be refining and preparing you right now.
