Readiness isn’t about rushing...
The Bridge Weekly Vol 2 Issue 13

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol. 2, Issue 13—where we’re learning that spiritual readiness isn’t about rushing, but about staying close.
This past Sunday, Tracy wrapped up our series with a reminder that living ready means living present—abiding in Jesus and letting the Holy Spirit fill our lives like oil in a lamp. You can’t borrow someone else’s faith—this journey is yours to walk. No one else can say yes to Jesus on your behalf or do the daily work of abiding for you. But here’s the good news: you’re not walking it alone. The Holy Spirit is your guide, your comforter, and the oil that keeps your lamp burning. So stay near. Stay open. Keep showing up. He’s not just with you—He’s forming something lasting in you with every step.
Did you know that our Sunday messages are published as a podcast as well as a YouTube video? If you prefer to listen rather than watch, you can find them on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Just search for Summerside Community Church. | ![]() |

We thought Tracy wrapped up the oil theme last week—but it turns out there’s more the Holy Spirit wants to say. This Sunday, Heather is picking up that thread with a message rooted in Zechariah 4:12 and Isaiah 11:1, reminding us that it’s the Holy Spirit who keeps our lamps full. Staying connected to the Spirit is not just a moment—but a lifestyle of ongoing dependence, wisdom, and power.

Senior Connect Group – Wednesdays at SCC - Join us on Wednesdays from 10 AM – 1 PM for our Connect Group for Seniors—a time of worship, testimonies, teaching, open discussion, and prayer. Together, we’ll explore what it means to carry God’s kingdom as mature believers, bearing good fruit in every season of life. Each session wraps up with communion and lunch, offering both spiritual and relational nourishment.
We’re also looking for four volunteers to help with AV, kitchen, and communion setup. If you’re interested in serving, let us know!

Join us Fridays from March 21 – April 11 (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM) for Lenten Lunches. Each gathering includes a 30-minute Lent service with music and a short devotion, followed by soup & biscuits. | 📍 Locations: March 28 – Summerside Presbyterian Church A free-will offering will support the Summerside Christian Council Student Bursary. A donation box will be available at each service. |

Saturday, March 29 is our second and final Spring Cleanup Day
and we’d love your help!
![]() | We’ve already made great progress on Wednesday, and now we’re finishing up the rest. It’s amazing to see things coming together, and even better to do it side by side as a church family. Come for any amount of time between 9 AM–12 PM. Pick a project (the list is still in the lobby), bring your energy, and enjoy some good snacks and upbeat cleaning music. Let’s keep taking care of the space God’s entrusted to us. It’s more than just chores—it’s community, and it matters. |

Heather Shea’s Ordination is happening Sunday, April 6 at 6:30 PM, and you’re invited to be part of this special moment. We’re thankful for how God is working in and through Heather’s leadership in worship, and it seems good to us—and the Holy Spirit—to officially set her apart for the calling she’s walking in. Join us as we celebrate, pray, and affirm the pastoral work God has placed in her hands.

Easter at SCC! Easter is a reminder that Jesus was anointed to bring hope, healing, and new life. Join us as we celebrate His resurrection and the promise that His Spirit is still pouring out today. Come expectant, come hungry, and let’s worship the risen King together! For service times and more information go to our website HERE! | ![]() |

This is the last Sunday to give!! Throughout March, 10% of our General Fund is going to Kaleo International as they equip leaders and share Jesus worldwide. Kaleo Central in Kenya serves as the main base for their work in East Africa, where the goal is to complete 15 church buildings this year. These churches began as humble house gatherings—meeting under trees until the congregation outgrew their space—and now, local communities are acquiring land and even making their own bricks. With materials for essentials like trusses and a metal roof costing around $1500 CAD, Josue Muse highlights this as the greatest need right now. Your generosity makes a real impact, spreads the gospel, empowers others on their faith journey, and supports these transformative building projects. Thank you for giving and being part of sharing the good news of Jesus to the remote corners of the world.
Our Total so far is $2,448!!

Mitch and Crystal Gaudet have quietly become a steady support in our church family—organizing usher and communion schedules, pitching in at our spring clean-up, and even tackling some toilet repairs! Their practical help and generous hearts are such a gift, and we’re grateful for the way they serve with joy.

Now that we’ve wrapped up the “Crushed, Poured, Prepared” series, the invitation still stands—stay ready, stay close, and stay filled. The Holy Spirit isn’t just for mountaintop moments; He’s with us in traffic, in conversations, in quiet places where we need wisdom and grace. The oil we’ve talked about week after week is His presence in our lives, shaping us to look more like Jesus. So don’t rush past what’s been planted—keep tending it. He’s still forming us, still speaking, still calling us to live with intention in the everyday.
Thanks for being part of the journey—it’s a gift to walk this out together. We’re looking forward to seeing you again on Sunday!

P.S. Jesus doesn’t invite us to hustle for holiness—He invites us to be with Him. The oil of readiness is found in staying close, letting His love shape how we live.
