Slow Down and Listen

The Spirit still leads hearts that stay attentive.

Hey there SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 3. Issue 19!
A river changes the landscape slowly. Water keeps moving long before anyone notices how much the shoreline has shifted. Life with Jesus often unfolds that way too. Quiet moments of prayer, small acts of surrender, and simple attentiveness to God begin shaping us from the inside out.

This past Sunday, Tracy reminded us that God has always been drawing close to His people. Through Jesus, God came near. Through the Holy Spirit, He now lives within us. Genesis shows the Spirit hovering over chaos before life begins to form, and that same nearness still meets us today. Take a few moments this week to slow down, breathe deeply, and welcome His presence again

This week’s blog and Between the Shores podcast continue the conversation around God’s nearness, the mystery of the Holy Spirit, and learning to walk with Jesus in everyday life.

This Sunday, Joel continues our Holy Spirit series with “The Voice That Leads Us,” exploring how faith grows as we learn to hear and respond to God’s voice. Together we’ll slow down, pay attention, and make space for the quiet ways the Spirit leads and forms us in everyday life.

Bob & Elizabeth Bryant are one of SCC’s love stories, first truly meeting through church life and now celebrating three years of marriage together. Valentine’s Day also happens to be their anniversary, which they happily say helps them remember it each year. They enjoy sharing good food and meaningful conversations, both with each other and with friends. Their days are filled with simple joys like playing games, praying, reading Scripture together, cycling, gardening, and enjoying the birds and wildlife around their home in Miscouche. Bob also loves table tennis and enjoys running the local club at the rec center. Their hearts for people and connection continue to shape the way they live and welcome others into their lives.

We love you for who you are. We’re thankful you’re part of this family.

Take a step into the life of our church this week. You can explore what’s coming up, find a place to connect, or join a team as you’re ready. We’d love to help you find your place.

Holy Spirit meets people personally, patiently, and closely. This week, make room for a quiet moment with Jesus. Pause long enough to listen, bring Him your questions, and trust that He is already nearer than you realize.

Thanks for being part of this church family. It’s a gift to walk with Jesus together.

P.S. Holy Spirit is closer than a distant idea.
