Still Hearing Him on Thursday?

Discipleship is a rhythm that lives on.

Hey there SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 44!
You can’t put Jesus on mute. Sunday’s message, He Spoke, reminded us that His voice keeps speaking long after the service ends—right into the middle of our ordinary days. It’s in the errands, the emails, the quiet prayers we whisper between tasks. Real discipleship starts when we begin noticing His voice there too—letting it shape how we love, work, rest, and live..

A little midweek wisdom for your scroll. This week’s blog takes He Spoke from Sunday into real life—quick to read, full of truth that lingers.

The Between the Shores podcast dives into the same theme—real stories, honest conversation, and a reminder that Jesus is still speaking.

Missed Sunday’s Message?
We’ve got you. Our Sunday messages are available as a podcast—great for your next walk, commute, or dishwashing session. Just search Summerside Community Church on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. You can also watch the full message anytime on our sermon hub.

This week, Colby’s walking us through Colossians 3:1–11, a passage that reminds us who we really are. The old is gone, the new is growing. It’s a good moment to pause and ask—how is Jesus reshaping your sense of identity and purpose right now?

Caring for orphans has always been part of SCC’s heartbeat. From the beginning, God has called us to love and stand with the vulnerable—to pray, support, and make room for those who need family and hope. As we recognize Adoption Month, let’s pray that every child waiting for a family would experience the love and security of God the Father. Let’s lift up the families who adopt, foster, and care for children in need—asking for strength, wisdom, and joy as they live out His love. And let’s keep praying that our church would continue reflecting God’s heart through ongoing mission, standing for the orphan, and nurturing sons and daughters both near and far.

With Colby heading to Africa in February, we’re looking to fill two important part-time roles that help carry the heart and mission of SCC.

The Custodian role is all about creating clean, welcoming spaces—for Sundays, events, and everyday moments. It’s flexible, hands-on, and could even work great for a couple.

The Youth Pastor position is for someone who loves teens and wants to help them grow in faith, friendship, and identity in Jesus. You’ll lead Thursday nights, mentor students, support volunteers, and walk alongside the next generation.

Volunteer Appreciation Party!

We can’t say it enough—you make SCC what it is. Every smile, every prayer, every tech slide and meal shared matters. So, we’re throwing a night just for you. Join us Friday, November 15 at 6 PM in the Café for great food, fun surprises, and a big thank-you from all of us. Please RSVP by November 12 so we can plan for you by replying to this email!

Christmas Decorating — November 19 | 1–4 PM
Once the party’s over, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and bring on the sparkle. Join us Wednesday, November 19 from 1–4 PM as we get the building ready for Christmas. There’ll be trees to trim, lights to hang, and a playlist of Christmas classics to keep things merry while we work.

Every shoebox is a simple gift with eternal impact. Through toys, school supplies, and small treasures, we get to share the love of Jesus with children around the world. If you’re packing a box this year, you can drop it off at Centre 150 during these times:

📦 November 20 – 11 AM to 4 PM
📦 November 21 – 4 PM to 8 PM
📦 November 22 – 9 AM to 3 PM

Let’s help spread joy—and the Gospel—one box at a time.

We’re continually amazed by the generosity that fuels SCC’s mission. Every gift—big or small—helps people experience Jesus in real ways. Darren, our Treasurer, put together a short video update to share where things stand and what’s ahead.

Rest has a way of realigning us. It slows the hurry, quiets the noise, and gives space for Jesus to speak again. When we stop trying to hold everything together, we start to notice He already is. Take time this week to pause, breathe, and let His presence settle over whatever feels scattered.

If encouragement were a sport, Andrew Bryce would take the gold. Our founding pastor and faithful Connect Café teammate, he’s the first to cheer others on and the last to leave, grin still going strong. Andrew has a way of making everyone feel welcome—proof that joy really is contagious.

Looking to get more involved? Joining a team is a great way to build community, discover your strengths, and help others experience Jesus along the way. From making coffee to running slides, greeting at the door to helping with kids—there’s a place for you. Let’s find it together.

There’s always something taking shape at SCC—and we’d love for you to be part of it. From upcoming events to ways to serve and grow, our website is the best place to explore what’s happening. Take a look and find your next step.

One More Thought
When God speaks, it isn’t just for the moment—it’s for the journey. His voice meets us in ordinary places, reminding us we’re not walking alone. Take time this week to slow down, listen, and notice where He’s already at work around you. Every conversation, every pause, every act of love is a chance to live what He’s been saying all along.

Thanks for being part of what God is building here. We love walking this out with you—and we’ll see you Sunday.

P.S.  Watch for Him in the everyday—the best surprises usually sound like grace.
