Surrender to his Love

The Bridge #19

Hey there SCC Family!

Happy 19th Thursday of the year! Welcome to this special edition of The Bridge Weekly. This Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost, marking the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. If you haven’t yet seen last Sunday’s sermon by Heather, it’s a must-watch. Heather brought fresh insights into the Holy Spirit's role as our personal guide and friend, emphasizing how the Spirit seeks a deep, personal connection with us.

Catch more of these reflections in Tracy’s latest Listening & Responding episode. Tracy explores the ongoing influence of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives and shares powerful personal experiences that highlight how the Holy Spirit moves us toward deeper understanding and communion with God. Check out the episode and dive deeper into the profound ways the Holy Spirit is working in and through us. What personal experiences have you had with the Holy Spirit that have shaped your faith journey?

Weekend Highlights:

Saturday Night: Join us for a night of worship on the eve of Pentecost Sunday at Centre 150, starting at 6:30 pm. It's a time to immerse ourselves in what the Holy Spirit is doing among us. If you're seeking more, this is the perfect opportunity to be nourished spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Let's inspire each other and strengthen our community through worship.

Sunday Morning: We're diving deeper into our Holy Spirit series, focusing on practical steps for living a Spirit-filled life through prayer, worship, obedience, and reliance on the Holy Spirit. It's about balancing the Fruits of the Spirit with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit; both are essential for our journey. Afterward, enjoy great coffee and even better company at the Connect Cafe! We've left the table up for another week where you can jot down a favourite scripture or what you're trusting God for in the next decade—whether for yourself, those around you, or our community.

Thank you! 🧹 A big thank you to everyone who helped with our outdoor clean-up yesterday morning! Your efforts have made a significant difference. We have another clean-up night tonight from 6:30-8:30. Join us if you can!

Think about how different our days could be if we let go and allowed the Holy Spirit to lead. What steps can you take this week to open your heart more fully to His love and guidance?

As we head into the weekend, let’s think about the Holy Spirit’s vital role in fully understanding God. The Spirit guides us to Jesus, who then points us to the Father, deepening our relationship with God and enriching our self-understanding.

Remember the story of Abraham's servant in Genesis 24. He followed directives similar to how the Holy Spirit guides us. The Spirit often asks us to do something beyond our strength or something we don’t want to do.

What might the Lord be asking of you? Trust Him, and you’ll find it’s always worth it.

P.S. Think about the blessings of grace, love, and community this week. Dive into 2 Corinthians 13:14 and reflect on how the grace of Jesus, the love of God, and the companionship of the Holy Spirit can shape your daily life. Embracing these gifts could deepen your relationships and bring peace and purpose to your journey.
