The Blood of Jesus

The Bridge Weekly Vol 2 Issue 5

Hey SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol. 2, Issue 5! Can you believe we’re already at the end of January? Time seems to move quickly, and we’re so grateful for moments to pause and connect as a church family. Big news—Natasha got married on Saturday! 🎉 While she’s away enjoying her honeymoon, this week’s email will be a bit shorter than usual.

This past Sunday, Colby shared a powerful message on the blood of Jesus. He reminded us that Jesus’ sacrifice covers sin and breaks its power, offering us freedom and the ultimate expression of God’s love. It’s a truth worth reflecting on as we move into this new season. To dig deeper into the take-aways from Sunday’s message join Tracy and Joel for the SCC Weekly podcast through the link below.

This Sunday, we’ll hear about Shelley King’s upcoming mission trip from February 8-15, where she’ll be learning from Hope Garden Project in the Bahamas. This is her second time working with this group and her experience will be unique in that she’ll be observing and participating in the behind-the-scenes work of hosting and coordinating teams. Hope Garden Project partners with the Ministry of Education to create sensory rooms, provide therapeutic equipment, and distribute essential supplies. This is a unique opportunity for Shelley to learn, grow, and serve—let’s be praying for her as she steps into this experience!

And…. we are beginning a new teaching series on the theme of “Oil” and its significance in our walk with God. Throughout this series, we will explore how oil represents the work we’re called to and the way God equips and sustains us. It’s an invitation to reflect on what it means to live with His anointing and step into the purpose He has for each of us. Let’s come ready to be encouraged and inspired together!

When it comes to hearing God’s voice, how can we be confident it’s Him? The 5 C’s of God’s guidance offer a helpful framework to discern His direction in our lives:

  1. Command of Scripture – God’s voice always aligns with His Word, reflecting His unchanging truth.

  2. Compelling of the Spirit – The Holy Spirit moves within us, bringing peace, conviction, or a sense of assurance.

  3. Counsel of the Saints – Seeking wisdom from trusted, godly people can bring clarity and confirmation.

  4. Common Sense – God often uses practical reasoning and wisdom to guide us.

  5. Circumstantial Signs – Providential events or patterns can affirm His leading in unexpected ways.

These principles remind us that Jesus still speaks, inviting us to trust His voice as we navigate the big and small decisions of life.

As we end the week, let’s reflect on the truth that freedom and forgiveness were secured through the blood of Jesus. His sacrifice is the great currency of Heaven, cleansing us and reconciling us to the Father. Let’s live in light of this gift, carrying our cross daily and sharing His love with the world. May we honour His sacrifice by becoming vessels of His grace and redemption, walking in the freedom He has given us.

Thanks for taking the time to connect with us through this week’s issue of The Bridge Weekly! It’s a joy to know you’re staying engaged and part of the conversation. We’re already looking forward to next week’s update! Until then, may you be guided by His peace, sustained by His love, and filled with His joy as you walk closely with Him. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

P.S. As we prepare for Sunday, take a moment to reflect on the theme of oil in Scripture. It’s often a symbol of anointing, preparation, and God’s sustaining presence. With Tracy beginning a new teaching series on this topic, consider how God might be inviting you to walk in His calling and rely on His provision this week.
