Hey SCC Family !
Well, here we are—week 43! Only a handful of Thursdays left in the year. Time is moving quickly, but we’re excited to continue growing together each week.
In this week’s message, Tracy unpacked the powerful phrase from the Lord’s Prayer, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done." She encouraged us to think about what it means to truly surrender our desires and invite God’s will into every area of our lives. Drawing on her personal experience, Tracy shared how slowing down in intentional quiet time with God has changed what she craves—replacing her own plans with a deeper desire for His.
She used the metaphor of an ecosystem to illustrate our spiritual lives—delicate, interconnected, and thriving only when God is at the center. This reflection challenges us to invite God's Kingdom not just into the big moments but into the small, daily choices that shape us. Tracy also reminded us of Jesus’ own surrender in Gethsemane, trusting the Father’s plan above His own desires. Just as Jesus trusted, we are called to do the same, knowing that God's will brings balance and freedom, even when it's hard to see at first.

Welcome Back Tracy!
Tracy returned from her vacation and shared a new Listening & Responding episode earlier this week. In it, she continued exploring the Lord’s Prayer series, focusing on the importance of slowing down and choosing the "one thing necessary," as Jesus reminded Martha in Luke 10. Tracy reflected on how taking time to be present with God can transform our busy, distracted lives. If you haven't watched it yet, take a moment to listen and let it guide your own journey with Jesus.

This Sunday, Colby will be continuing our series on the Lord’s Prayer, focusing on Matthew 6:11, “Give us today our daily bread.” This verse calls us to trust God for both our physical needs and spiritual nourishment, reminding us of His faithful provision every day.
We still have a photo booth set up, so feel free to take a moment and capture some memories with friends or family. After the service, stick around for Connect Café and enjoy some coffee and conversation!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported last Sunday’s October “fest” fundraiser! We’re thrilled to share that we raised over $500 for the Gulu Mission Team. Your generosity is making a real difference as the team prepares to serve in Uganda from Nov 5-18. They will focus on community outreach, including work in the Women’s & Children’s Prison, the hospital, and with local university students.
As they prepare for this mission, please keep the team in your prayers, both as they get ready and while they’re there. One of the primary needs is for headlamps, pop-up lanterns, garden lights, and fabric for tablecloths (dark colours preferred) would be greatly appreciated. Your continued support helps the team share the love of Jesus and serve the Gulu community.

The Salvation Army Food Bank plays a vital role in supporting those in need in our community. This October, we have set a goal to collect 200 food items to help families facing difficult times. You can drop off non-perishable food donations at the table in our lobby. Whether you give food or financial contributions, your generosity ensures that no one goes without a meal. Let’s continue to show love and care by supporting this important cause and reaching our goal together!
Did you notice the Christmas tree in the great room last Sunday? That’s a sure sign that our Operation Christmas Child campaign is here! Feel free to grab a shoebox from under the tree and start thinking about what to include—whether it’s school supplies, toys, or hygiene items. Each gift shares Jesus’ love and brings hope to children in need around the world. Let’s come together and make a meaningful impact as we reflect His love. The final drop-off date is November 21-23.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for our fall clean-up! Special thanks to Donna Lee, Daryl, Merton, Joel, and Darren for all their hard work. Your efforts made such a difference in making our shared space shine. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we truly appreciate the time and energy you gave to make it a success!

When we pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done,” we’re invited into something bigger than ourselves. It’s a reminder that life isn’t about our own plans or desires but about aligning our hearts with God’s purposes. This prayer asks us to step back and trust that God’s way is better—even when we can’t see the whole picture. It’s a bold request, asking for God’s kingdom to shape our daily choices, relationships, and how we engage with the world. As we let go of control, we discover the beauty of surrender, trusting that His will is always good, even when it’s hard to understand.

This week we highlight two dedicated volunteers who help keep the outside of our church looking its best. Margo MacKinnon does an amazing job caring for our flower beds, making sure they always look beautiful. And a big thanks to Merton Smith, who recently took care of cleaning the gutters and unclogging the drains—such an important task! We’re so grateful for all they do. If you enjoy outdoor work and want to get involved, we’d love to have you join the team. There’s always room for more hands to help!

As we close out this week, let’s take a moment to consider how God calls us not just to work, but to rest. True rest—stopping, quiet, worship, and delight—is where we learn to trust in Him, rather than relying on our own abilities. Like Martha, we can easily become distracted by what we think needs to be done, missing the invitation to simply be with Jesus. But Mary chose the one thing that mattered—sitting at Jesus’ feet—and that is where lasting value is found. This week, try to spend even just 10 minutes in His presence, sitting, listening, and letting Him lead.
Thanks for hanging out with us in this week’s edition of The Bridge Weekly! It’s always a joy to stay connected, and we can’t wait to catch up with you again next week. Until then, take care and have a great weekend!

P.S. As we continue exploring the Lord’s Prayer, remember that God is our constant provider, always near and caring for our needs. Take a moment to reflect on Matthew 6:11 this week, “Give us today our daily bread,” and let it remind you of God’s faithfulness in both the small and big things in your life.
