The Secret to Contentment
It’s not more stuff, fewer problems, or better timing—it’s Jesus.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 23! Spoiler alert: contentment isn’t hiding in your Amazon cart. Joel reminded us Sunday that peace isn’t found in perfect conditions—it’s found in Jesus. Paul learned it in prison. We’re learning it in real life. Same secret, same source.
![]() | Missed Sunday? Prefer to listen on the go? Whether you’re commuting, walking the dog, or folding laundry, it’s an easy way to stay connected. The message is available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify—just search Summerside Community Church You can also catch the full message anytime on our website’s sermon hub. |
Need a quick reset in the middle of your scroll? This week’s blog offers a short, thoughtful reflection on Sunday’s message—packed with clarity, challenge, and hope. And if you’re in the mood for a longer conversation, the Between the Shores podcast is up too. Joel and Colby take us behind the scenes and deeper into the message in a way that’s honest, funny, and full of heart.

Guess who’s back at her desk? Natasha’s in the office Monday to Thursday—just don’t swing by on Fridays! We’re stepping into our summer rhythm, which means the office will be closed Friday mornings through the season. Plan your visits accordingly—we’d hate to miss you!

This week, Darren Stretch wraps up our journey through Philippians with an epilogue and a timely invitation. Drawing from Acts 16:19–34 and Philippians 4:4–7, he’ll share three practical steps to help us step away from the chaos of the world and walk in a Jesus-shaped life.

June is Missions Giving Month! This year, 10% of all General Fund giving will go directly toward helping support Isaac Gillis and Jazmyn Gallant as they prepare to join Youth With a Mission (YWAM) this fall. Part of these funds will also help launch a brand-new YWAM base, expanding the ministry’s reach and impact. | ![]() |
YWAM equips and sends young people around the world to share Jesus—and we’re excited to stand with Isaac and Jazmyn as they step into this call. You can find them in the lobby on Sundays to learn more or cheer them on!

At SCC, we love giving students space to explore ministry and discover what God might be calling them to. This summer, we’re raising $4,000 to support our student intern—and we’re already over halfway there with $2,045 raised! Every bit helps. You can give by cash, cheque, eTransfer (just mark it “summer student”), or through Nucleus. Want to pledge instead? Just reply to this email or click the button below.
Thanks for helping us pour into what’s next.

“Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” —Psalm 116:7
Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is pause and remember His goodness. Rest isn’t laziness—it’s trust.
Tracy’s sabbatical is a reflection of that—a three-month rhythm of rest, prayer, and renewal. It’s a gift not just for her, but for us as a church. Let’s keep praying for her—and for one another—as we lean into this season of shared trust and growth.

Every Saturday at 6:30 PM at Centre 150, we’re setting aside time to pray, listen, and wait on God together. There’s no program—just space to be still, lift our voices, and seek what the Spirit is saying.
This rhythm flows out of our recent 22-day prayer initiative, where many of you shared how deeply meaningful it was to intercede for Canada. That sense of calling hasn’t faded. Scripture reminds us to pray for our nation and its leaders (1 Timothy 2:1–2; 2 Chronicles 7:14), so we’re continuing to gather—with hearts anchored in Jesus, our true hope.

Calling all men—this is your invitation to get away, lean in, and be strengthened. Join us for a weekend of worship, teaching, and brotherhood that’s all about growing in faith and walking boldly with Jesus. 🗓 June 14–15 | ![]() It’s more than an event—it’s a reset. |

The Island Pregnancy Centre is now halfway through their Baby Bottle Campaign and every donation is making a difference. As a donor-supported organization with no government funding, the Centre depends on this fundraiser to support women, children, and families across PEI.
Funds raised go directly toward essential programs like pregnancy support, postpartum care, grief counselling, and practical help like diapers, formula, car seats, and more. Your generosity helps keep these vital services going strong.

Josiah Linkletter is one of those people you can always count on. Whether he’s helping out in kids ministry with Freddie or jumping in wherever there’s a need, he shows up with a willing heart and a ready hand. We’re grateful for the way he quietly makes things better—just by being there.

That’s a Wrap—But One More Thing…
This week’s invitation is simple, but not easy: trust Jesus. Not just with your beliefs—but with your pace, your priorities, your sense of enough. As you head into the weekend, take a breath, slow the striving, and ask: “What might Jesus want to do through me this week?” Let’s live from His supply—not our stress.
Thanks for hanging out in your inbox with us. Let’s keep following Jesus—and see where the week takes us. See you Sunday!

P.S. Sometimes the most freeing prayer is just this: “Jesus, I trust You to be enough.” Try it. Mean it. See what shifts.
