The wagon wheel says it all.

Every spoke of life connects back to one thing—Jesus at the center.

Hey there SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 44!
If life feels a bit wobbly lately, it might be a sign you’ve lost a spoke. Sunday’s message painted a simple picture—a wagon wheel with Jesus right at the center. When He’s there, everything holds together. Discipleship grows as we learn to recognize Jesus’ voice in our daily lives—at home, at work, and in the spaces between.

If you missed it—or just need a midweek reset—the blog gives a quick snapshot of Sunday’s message. It’s short, but it’ll get you thinking. Take a few minutes to read, reflect, and realign.

Prefer to listen on the go? The Between the Shores podcast is up and ready. It’s a great way to revisit Sunday’s conversation while you drive, walk, or unwind.

Missed Sunday’s Message?
We’ve got you. Our Sunday messages are available as a podcast—great for your next walk, commute, or dishwashing session. Just search Summerside Community Church on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. You can also watch the full message anytime on our sermon hub.

We’re keeping the Connect Group Fair going for one more week as Joel continues exploring what it means to grow in Christ together. Think of it like adding a few more spokes to the wheel—each one connecting us to Jesus at the center.

This week’s focus looks at how the different “spokes” of discipleship balance one another—curiosity and conviction, rest and mission, worship and fellowship, hearing God’s voice and living His truth. It’s all held together by one thing: love. As Colossians 3:14 says, “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

With Colby heading to Africa in February, we’re looking to fill two important part-time roles that help carry the heart and mission of SCC.

The Custodian role is all about creating clean, welcoming spaces—for Sundays, events, and everyday moments. It’s flexible, hands-on, and could even work great for a couple.

The Youth Pastor position is for someone who loves teens and wants to help them grow in faith, friendship, and identity in Jesus. You’ll lead Thursday nights, mentor students, support volunteers, and walk alongside the next generation.

Volunteer Appreciation Party!

We can’t say it enough—you make SCC what it is. Every smile, every prayer, every tech slide and meal shared matters. So, we’re throwing a night just for you. Join us Friday, November 15 at 6 PM in the Café for great food, fun surprises, and a big thank-you from all of us. Please RSVP by November 12 so we can plan for you by replying to this email!

Christmas Decorating — November 19 | 1–4 PM
Once the party’s over, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and bring on the sparkle. Join us Wednesday, November 19 from 1–4 PM as we get the building ready for Christmas. There’ll be trees to trim, lights to hang, and a playlist of Christmas classics to keep things merry while we work.

Every shoebox is a simple gift with eternal impact. Through toys, school supplies, and small treasures, we get to share the love of Jesus with children around the world. If you’re packing a box this year, you can drop it off at Centre 150 during these times:

📦 November 20 – 11 AM to 4 PM
📦 November 21 – 4 PM to 8 PM
📦 November 22 – 9 AM to 3 PM

Let’s help spread joy—and the Gospel—one box at a time.

We’re continually amazed by the generosity that fuels SCC’s mission. Every gift—big or small—helps people experience Jesus in real ways. Darren, our Treasurer, put together a short video update to share where things stand and what’s ahead.

Sometimes rest looks simple: a walk without headphones, a meal without multitasking, a moment to breathe before the next thing. Wherever you find that pause, let it remind you—you’re not alone in your day.

You’ll often spot Sandra Gallant helping at the Connect Café or quietly serving during offering time. She brings steadiness and kindness wherever she’s needed—always ready with a smile and a helping hand. We’re so thankful for the calm strength she brings to our church family.

Looking to get more involved? Joining a team is a great way to build community, discover your strengths, and help others experience Jesus along the way. From making coffee to running slides, greeting at the door to helping with kids—there’s a place for you. Let’s find it together.

There’s always something taking shape at SCC—and we’d love for you to be part of it. From upcoming events to ways to serve and grow, our website is the best place to explore what’s happening. Take a look and find your next step.

Before You Go…
As you head into the week, take a moment to quiet the noise and listen for God’s voice in your home, your work, and your conversations. The hearth image from Sunday reminds us that Jesus wants to be at the center of it all—warming, refining, and shaping what we offer Him. Let’s make room for His presence in the ordinary places where life unfolds.

Thanks for being part of what God is building here. We love walking this out with you—and we’ll see you Sunday.

P.S. Keep your ears—and heart—open this week. Jesus still speaks in the middle of ordinary life.
