This Life Isn’t Yours—And That’s the Good News
You are invited into a life shaped by Jesus, not defined by circumstances.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 16—where “getting a life” means giving it to Jesus. On Sunday, Joel unpacked Philippians 1:12–30, where Paul, writing from prison, shows us that even chains can’t silence the gospel. His life wasn’t shaped by circumstance but by Christ.
Living, for Paul, meant serving Jesus. Dying? Even better—it meant being with Him. He invites us to see suffering differently, to stand firm as citizens of heaven, and to let the river of God’s presence carry us—whether through calm or current.
If you didn’t make it Sunday—or just feel like your week could use a spiritual reset—our latest blog is a great place to start. It’s a short read with a lot of depth, offering simple reminders of what it means to live a life shaped by Jesus. Click Here to Read ➡️➡️➡️➡️ |

This Easter Sunday, Tracy continues our Jesus-Shaped Life series with a message from Philippians 2:1–11: He Took on the Status of a Slave.
Jesus humbled Himself, even to death—but God raised Him up in victory. His exaltation is our hope, and His resurrection changes everything. Because He lives, we don’t just celebrate—we live differently. This week, we’ll explore:
Humility that leads to glory
Resurrection as proof that Jesus reigns
What it means to follow a King who stepped down to lift us up
Let’s come ready to reflect, respond, and rejoice in the risen Christ.

Thank You! A huge thank you to everyone who gave to our March Mission: Kaleo International. Together, we collected $3,334—enough to provide materials for over two roofs. Your generosity is making a real difference, one home (and one family) at a time. We’re so grateful for the way you give, serve, and support missions like this. It matters more than you know.

From April 7 to 28, we’ll be gathering each evening from 6:30–7:30 PM at SCC for one hour of focused prayer. (Sundays & Tuesdays will be on Zoom.) With elections approaching, we’re setting aside time to pray for Canada—asking God to move in our nation with wisdom, healing, and hope. Let’s seek His will over our land and believe together for a season shaped by peace, clarity, and His presence.

On May 12, Tracy will begin a three-month sabbatical—a rhythm we honour every seven years as a gift of rest and renewal. This time includes one month of vacation and two months set aside for prayer, study, and spiritual refreshment.
Why do we do this? Because we believe rest is not just wise—it’s biblical. Just as the land was given a sabbath in Scripture, leaders too need time to pause and be restored. This isn’t stepping away—it’s stepping back to be filled again.
It’s also an opportunity for us as a church to lean in. Sabbaticals strengthen the whole body by making space for new voices, shared leadership, and fresh trust in Jesus as the true head of His Church. Let’s be praying for Tracy—and for all of us—as we step into this season with expectancy.

Easter Weekend at SCC!
Good Friday is tomorrow, and Easter Sunday is just around the corner. This weekend, we remember the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus—the heart of our hope. Jesus was anointed to bring healing, freedom, and new life. His resurrection is proof that nothing can hold back the love and power of God. Come expectant, come hungry, and let’s worship the risen King together. As we head into Easter weekend, let’s remember: the life we’re called to isn’t built on titles or comfort, but on the love and humility of Jesus. He laid everything down—and God raised Him up. That same power is at work in us. So wherever this weekend finds you—in rest, in reflection, or in need of renewal—know that resurrection isn’t just a moment in history. It’s a promise for today. Let’s live like people who carry that hope.
Thanks for staying connected and walking this journey with us. We’re looking forward to celebrating Easter weekend together!

P.S. Paul didn’t just preach about Jesus—he lived for Him, right where he was, chains and all. Maybe the invitation for us this week is the same: to let our lives speak, wherever we find ourselves.
