This Might Be the Rhythm You’ve Been Missing
These three steps are simple, but they go deep.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 24! Turns out the path to peace might just involve yelling, snacking, and sensing God’s presence somewhere in between. Darren gave us three simple steps for a Jesus-shaped life: Exclaim, Encounter, Eat. (Yes, eating made the list—some spiritual advice we can all get behind.) If your week could use a holy reset, start here 👇
![]() | Missed Sunday? You can catch Sunday’s message in podcast form—available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Just search Summerside Community Church and listen anytime. You can also catch the full message anytime on our website’s sermon hub. |
Need a quick catch-up or a deeper dive? The blog gives you a snapshot of Sunday’s message—short, sharp, and packed with perspective. Think of it as your mid-week check-in. And if a walk, drive, or coffee break is calling your name, the Between the Shores podcast (featuring Darren and Joel this week!) is ready when you are.

The office is open Monday to Thursday, with Friday mornings off for the summer. If you need anything, that’s the best time to reach out—we’re here and happy to help!

This Sunday is Father’s Day, and Henk Visser will be sharing a message titled “Unlocking Fatherhood.” It’s not just for dads—Henk will explore how each of us is called to spiritual parenthood in a world that’s hungry for connection and care. Come ready to be encouraged and challenged.

June is Missions Giving Month! We’re excited to support Isaac Gillis and Jazmyn Gallant as they prepare to join Youth With a Mission (YWAM) this fall. This month, 10% of all General Fund giving will go directly toward helping them say yes to God’s call—and will also help launch a brand-new YWAM base, expanding the ministry’s reach and impact. | ![]() |
You can find Isaac and Jazmyn in the lobby on Sundays to learn more, ask questions, or cheer them on!

At SCC, we love giving young people the chance to grow in ministry and discover God’s purpose for their lives. This summer, we’re raising $4,000 to support our student intern—and thanks to your generosity, we’ve already raised $2,255!
Every gift helps create space for mentorship, hands-on experience, and spiritual growth. Want to join in? You can give by cash, cheque, eTransfer (designate “summer student”), or through Nucleus. Want to pledge instead? Just reply to this email or click the button below. Thanks for helping us pour into what’s next.

“You have made us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
—St. Augustine
Rest isn’t about checking out—it’s about checking in with the One who made you. Take a moment this week to pause, breathe, and remember that your worth isn’t in what you do but in who you belong to..

Every Saturday at 6:30 PM at Centre 150, we’re setting aside time to pray, listen, and wait on God together. There’s no program—just space to be still, lift our voices, and seek what the Spirit is saying.
This rhythm flows out of our recent 22-day prayer initiative, where many of you shared how deeply meaningful it was to intercede for Canada. That sense of calling hasn’t faded. Scripture reminds us to pray for our nation and its leaders (1 Timothy 2:1–2; 2 Chronicles 7:14), so we’re continuing to gather—with hearts anchored in Jesus, our true hope.

It’s not too late—Kingdom Man Advance kicks off tomorrow, and there’s still time to jump in. This weekend of worship, teaching, and brotherhood is all about growing stronger in faith together. 🗓 June 14–15 | ![]() It’s more than an event—it’s a reset. |

🎉 Just 4 days left in the Baby Bottle Campaign! 🍼💛 Island Pregnancy Centre relies solely on donor support to care for women, babies, and families in our community. Every donation helps! Let’s finish strong — donate today and make a difference.

Are you pursuing post-secondary Christian education? A $500 scholarship is available for students who meet the criteria and are actively involved at SCC.

You’ve probably seen Tim Linkletter around—quietly leading, showing up, and supporting others. He’s one of our elders, a longtime youth leader, and a steady presence on the New Wine Worship team. From teens to adults, his faithfulness has left a mark across generations. We’re grateful for the way Tim helps build this church family, one act of service at a time.
DON’T MISS WHAT’S NEXT- From weekly rhythms to one-time events, there’s a lot happening in our church family—and we’d love for you to be part of it. Head to our website for the latest updates, opportunities to serve, and ways to grow in community.
Before we rush into the weekend, here’s a thought: Exclaim. Encounter. Eat. Simple steps, but not always easy. This weekend, make space to slow down and look for God—He’s not far, just easy to miss when we’re moving too fast.
Thanks for hanging out in your inbox with us. Let’s keep following Jesus—and see where the week takes us. See you Sunday!

P.S. Cry out. Lean in. Then eat pancakes. That’s the rhythm.
