Where in the World is SCC going next? SCC has a heart for seeing the transforming love of Jesus bring life and hope to people locally, nationally and internationally. We love to see how God works among us, around us, in our nation and in the world. It builds our hope and trust as we see how personal our God is and how big he is, touching people beside us and across the world from us. His Kingdom is so much more than we can think or imagine, and we are excited to follow Jesus wherever He leads us. Stay tuned for our next mission trip announcement on Sunday, September 3rd. Also, mark your calendars for information sessions on Sunday, September 10, after church, and Monday, September 4th, from 7-8 p.m., where we'll explore the exciting opportunities God has in store for us.

Growing in Community. God's Kingdom is an adventure, and its work starts within us. As we become more like Jesus, we impact the world around us. Community is crucial for this journey. Eugene Peterson, Pastor, Teacher, and Author vulnerably shares this in a book he wrote--

"I often found myself preferring the company of people outside my congregation, men and women who did not follow Jesus. Or worse, preferring the company of my sovereign self. But soon I found that my preferences were honoured by neither Scripture nor Jesus. I didn't come to the conviction easily, but finally, there was no getting around it: There can be no maturity in the spiritual life, no obedience in following Jesus, no wholeness in the Christian life apart from immersion and embrace of community. I am not myself by myself. Community, not the highly vaunted individualism of our culture, is the setting in which Christ is at play."

...and it helps to really consider the HUGE importance of close groups of people walking together, like a connect group, that we encourage our SCC family to engage with. We require more than Sunday mornings to grow and what the world offers or tries to convince us of, as Eugene points out, is a counterfeit of what Jesus means by community.

Here are 3 considerations:1. Are you in a Connect Group? Do you think you would like to Host or Lead a Connect group? We would love to talk to you!! This coming Sunday after church, during the cafe-time please join us with Nalan & Darren Stretch in the Multi-Purpose room to learn more. We will begin at 12:30 & go to 1:30 p.m. A light snack will be provided. 2. Learn about how God has wired us for community and more…For information about the Kingdom Wholeness 101 course click

Following these 4 weeks, there will be opportunities to join a Connect Group.

OR3. Consider joining Celebrate Recovery, every Tuesday as a safe place to recover in relationship with Jesus and others. Check out their Facebook page.Isaac's Reflections: As our summer intern, Isaac, enters his final two weeks with us, he's been sharing a special series of videos. Join him as he recounts his highlights & challenges, and even throws in a few jokes. Follow his engaging posts and don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with Isaac's unique journey!

Come and join us this Saturday, September 2nd from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Love Summerside Community FREE BBQ! Enjoy food, treats, cold drinks, ice cream cake, games, face painting, and more. This event will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Summer Street.Weekly Reflections: Stay connected by tuning in to Tracy's weekly video reflections, where she digs into this past Sunday's message and offers insights for the week ahead. In this week’s reflection, Tracy looks at how there is so much more in store for us in God’s Kingdom, coming through salvations door is just the beginning.  Our Elev8 Youth’s weekend retreat experience seamlessly connected to Sunday’s theme and it was so beautiful to see this generation bless our whole church family with what God is doing in their hearts. Tracy shares a timeless Kingdom Parable, called the "Two Standards," that encourages living humbly amidst battles, embracing Christ's way, and finding life in surrender. Micah 6:8 resonates, guiding us to walk humbly and justly with God. His Kingdom is here and it is truly within our grasp. This Sunday, immerse yourself in a meaningful worship experience with New Wine Worship, engage in Communion, and continue exploring our series on "The Kingdom of God is Like...".

  • Pre-Service Prayer: Everyone is welcome to come and join us between 9:30 and 9:50 a.m., where we've set aside a time for prayer.

If health concerns arise, catch our service on Facebook or YouTube.

See you this Sunday!P.S. Following the way of Jesus is not something that we are created to do on our own. We are created with limits so that we can be gifts to one another, walking together and learning to love like Jesus does.
