What Holds the Church Together?

The answer hasn’t changed—Christ alone.

Hey there SCC Family !

Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 37!

If Lego sets have instructions and recipes come with directions, it makes sense the Church would come with a blueprint too. On Sunday, Joel shared how the Nicene Creed’s words—one, holy, catholic, and apostolic—aren’t dusty history but a living design for God’s people today. Built on Jesus, not shifting opinions, the Church is united by His Spirit, set apart for His purposes, global in scope, and rooted in the witness of the apostles.

Missed Sunday’s message? The blog gives you a quick glimpse into the heart of it—short enough to read mid-scroll, yet packed with truth to carry into your week. Prefer to listen on the go? The Between the Shores podcast is live—perfect for your next walk, drive, or coffee break.

Not a big reader? We get it—sometimes you just need a good message in your ears.

Our Sunday messages are up as a podcast every week. Perfect for your next walk, drive, or dishwashing session. Just search Summerside Community Church on Apple Podcasts or Spotify You can also watch the full message anytime on our website’s sermon hub.

Colby will wrap up our We Believe series with week #10: “We Look for the Resurrection of the Dead and the Life of the World to Come.” It’s a message about hope—the kind that lifts our eyes and reminds us Jesus’ victory is already ours.

We’re grateful for every act of generosity that fuels the mission here at SCC. It’s been encouraging to see what’s been accomplished together so far this year! With just 16 Sundays left until the new year, here’s a look at where our giving stands year to date—and the impact we can keep building together.

As we step into September, we want you to know that 10% of all general fund giving this month will go directly to Loaves & Fishes—a ministry that’s making a real impact by feeding our local community. Every dollar given makes a difference, and this month, it’s helping put food on tables and hope in hearts. Thank you for giving faithfully, prayerfully, and with purpose.

For the Days Ahead
Church isn’t just something we go to—it’s a family we belong to. And like any family, it can be messy and beautiful all at once. The good news? Jesus is right in the middle of it. This week, let His kindness steady your heart, let His Spirit guide your steps, and look for moments to be the Church wherever you are—at work, at the table, or even in the ordinary places of your day.

See You Sunday- We love doing life and faith with you. Let’s keep showing up, lifting Jesus high, and living it out together.

P.S. Don’t forget—Jesus is the builder. All He asks is that we show up and let Him work through us.
