What’s a Creed Got to Do With It?
A creed is more than words—it’s a compass for a world full of noise.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 26!
Sunday’s message left us thinking—when it comes to faith, what we believe isn’t just personal… it’s powerful. Joel gave us a fresh take on creeds (yes, creeds!) and why they’re more than dusty relics. They’re declarations that steady us, shape us, and pull us back to the center: Jesus.

Want to keep the conversation going? This week’s blog packs a punch, and the Between the Shores podcast dives even deeper. Joel unpacks how creeds help ground our faith when life gets loud—and why knowing what we believe really does make a difference.

Natasha is in the office Monday through Thursday! Please note the office will be closed on Friday mornings for the summer—and also closed on Tuesday, July 1st for the holiday. Thanks for planning ahead!

Week two of We Believe – A Journey Through the Nicene Creed is coming your way. Colby is picking up where Joel left off, helping us unpack the deep, unshakable truths at the heart of our faith. These aren’t just old words—they’re a living confession that centers us in who God is and who we are because of Him.

Be part of the growing Mission of Jesus This is the final week to give toward Missions Giving Month—and we’ve raised approximately $1,908 so far! In June, 10% of all General Fund giving goes toward helping Isaac Gillis and Jazmyn Gallant join YWAM this fall. Part of these funds will also support the launch of a brand-new YWAM base, where Chris and Moira Cairns are playing a key role. Let’s keep cheering them on and finish strong!
👇 Watch the video below to hear more from Chris and Moira about what’s ahead.

We’re almost there—$2,535 has already been pledged toward our $4,000 goal to support two summer interns at SCC! These roles are more than just summer jobs—they’re about mentoring, hands-on ministry, and raising up young leaders. This is the final week to make a pledge. You can give by cash, cheque, Nucleus, or eTransfer (just note “summer student”).
🎉 And good news—we’ll be announcing our summer interns this Sunday!
Want to chip in? Just reply to this email or click the button below. Thanks for helping us pour into what’s next.

Please note the location change for this week!
This Saturday, June 28, we’ll be gathering at the Martin’s home—150 Gardiner Street—not Centre 150, due to a wedding taking place there. Feel free to drop in after 6:00 PM; prayer will begin at 6:30 sharp.
To help with planning (and avoid wedding crashers!), let Freddy know if you’re coming: [email protected]

What we believe shapes how we live—and how we love. This week, may your words echo with truth, your actions overflow with grace, and your heart stay rooted in the One who holds it all together.
Thanks for hanging out in your inbox with us. Let’s keep following Jesus—and see where the week takes us. See you Sunday!

P.S. Belief isn’t passive. What we say about God—out loud and together—shapes who we become. In a world of shifting opinions, there’s power in standing with others and saying: this is what we believe.
