What’s Holding You Back?
You don’t have to stay stuck.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 2. Issue 39!
Some doors don’t budge no matter how hard you push. This Sunday, Henk reminded us that when it comes to spiritual growth, it’s not about pushing harder—it’s about using the right key. Jesus has already placed them in our hands: worship, wholeness, discipline, and connection. When we pick them up and live from the inside out, freedom follows.

Tracy is sharing a message titled Prone to Wander. It’s a call to pay attention—to the places we drift, the habits we form, and the gentle voice of Jesus that keeps inviting us back to Himself. It’s a message about staying rooted, walking closely, and letting our lives be shaped by trust and love.

Connect Groups Are Taking Shape
Planning for this year’s Connect Groups is well underway, and Joel’s been connecting with leaders and shaping a new season of community. Some groups are already preparing to launch, with more to come soon.
We’ve got lots of people ready to jump in—but we’re still looking for leaders to help open the door. If you’ve got an idea, a heart to gather people, or just a willingness to say yes, talk to Joel. You don’t have to have it all figured out—we’ll help you get started.
Connect Fair is happening Sunday, October 19, with a chance to meet group leaders, ask questions, and find a group that fits.
Here’s a sneak peek at one returning group with a fresh name:
Hearts in Harmony
Every second Wednesday at 12:30 PM (next meeting October 1), this women’s group meets at 📍100 Putters St. It’s a welcoming space to grow in faith, find connection, and walk with others toward healing and purpose.

Fourteen Sundays. That’s all that’s left in 2025. And every one of them is a chance to keep building something that lasts. Your generosity isn’t just appreciated—it’s making a difference, both here at home and around the world.

Every quarter, we give 10% of general fund giving to a mission focus:
Q1 → Kaleo International, helping fund roofs for growing churches in Sudan
Q2 → YWAM, supporting Jazmyn Gallant, Isaac Gillis, and the Cairns family in their missions training and outreach
Q3 → Loaves & Fishes, serving hot meals and offering dignity to our neighbours in need
![]() | This month, 10% of all general fund giving goes directly to Loaves & Fishes—a local ministry feeding our community with dignity and care. Every dollar helps put food on tables and hope in hearts. So far, we’ve been able to give $2,069 toward Loaves & Fishes through your giving. Thank you for being part of the story. |

Be Part of the Elev8 Team Our teens are growing, asking big questions, and learning what it means to follow Jesus—and they need adults who are willing to walk with them. Elev8 Youth is looking for volunteers to help create a safe, welcoming space on Thursday nights. You don’t need to be a pro—just present. Good at games? Great. More of a quiet encourager? That works too. If you’re interested, talk to Colby. We’d love to have you on the team. | ![]() |

We’re setting aside space to pray for our city, province, and nation. Join us Saturdays at 6:30 PM in the Multipurpose Room as we bring leaders, communities, and churches before God, trusting Him to lead with wisdom and peace.

Rest doesn’t always come easy—but it’s still offered. One of the keys Jesus gives is rhythm: the quiet kind that strengthens, heals, and restores. Sabbath invites us to stop striving and receive what only God can give. Maybe it’s not about doing more, but about making space to be fully present—to notice where He’s already moving.

Following Jesus means listening to His voice—and one of the clearest ways we do that is by being in His Word. If you’ve been wanting to start, there’s no better time. On Oct 1, the Bible Recap begins a 3-month journey through the New Testament—starting with the life of Jesus in the Gospels. You can follow along on YouVersion, or grab a printed copy of the plan from the Hub wall this Sunday. Find the plan here! | ![]() |

As You Step Forward
Some weeks feel like a straight line. Others feel like a winding river. But no matter where the path bends, God is already there—inviting us to slow down, look up, and ask, What are You doing in me right now? Maybe that’s the question to carry into the week ahead. Not for answers on demand, but to stay present to the One who leads us through.
See You Sunday- We love doing life and faith with you. Let’s keep showing up, lifting Jesus high, and living it out together.

P.S. Jesus knows how to meet us in the stuck places—with keys, with kindness, and a way forward. As you go about your week, keep your eyes open for where He’s already at work. You might be closer to breakthrough than you realize.
