When Freedom Feels Unfamiliar

Jesus is teaching us to live from the new heart He has already given.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly. Thanks for taking a few moments to connect this week.

Freedom is a gift, yet learning to live in that freedom takes time. Jesus meets us with patience as Holy Spirit teaches us to recognize the Father’s voice above the fears, habits, and old patterns that once shaped us.

Just as Israel learned to live as a free people after leaving Egypt, Jesus continues to form new hearts in ordinary moments of trust, prayer, and faithful obedience. Every step with Him is an invitation to discover the life and peace that grow as we remain close to His presence.

Joel continues the conversation this Sunday with Living the Presence of Holy Spirit in Real Life. Together we’ll explore what it looks like to become more aware of God’s presence in everyday moments, trusting Holy Spirit to shape our thoughts, our relationships, and the ordinary rhythms of life as we remain connected to Jesus.

Following Jesus is something we learn together. Throughout the week you’ll find opportunities to keep growing through stories, upcoming events, ways to serve, and practical next steps. Take a few minutes to explore this week’s updates in the Digital Hub and see where God might be inviting you next.

Steven and Natalie Murray have built a life that brings together two very different corners of the world. Steven grew up on Prince Edward Island, and Natalie was raised in Australia. Together they share a love for adventure, meaningful conversations, and discovering new places. Their warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit make people feel welcome wherever they go, and we’re grateful they’re part of this church family. One more thing. Sunday happens to be Natalie’s birthday, so if you see her, help make her day with a birthday wish!.

On September 12, believers from churches across Prince Edward Island will come together for Worship in Unity, an evening of worship, prayer, and Communion centred on Jesus. The weeks leading up to that evening are part of the preparation. Every prayer becomes part of what God is doing before that evening arrives.

Beginning this Saturday, our Digital Hub will include a simple weekly prayer guide to help you join in from wherever you are. As we pray and fast together, we’re asking Jesus to prepare our hearts and draw His Church together in unity.

Every new day is another invitation to listen for the Father’s voice and trust the work Holy Spirit is doing within us. As we remain close to Jesus, He continues shaping our hearts into people who reflect His love, one ordinary step at a time.

May the Lord bless you this week as you continue to trust Him, one step at a time.

P.S. The road is always better than the ditch. Ask Holy Spirit to help you stay close to Jesus this week.
