When God Speaks, We See Jesus
Look to him.

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 3. Issue 11!
When we want to understand the heart of God, we look to Jesus. Hebrews opens with this clear reminder. God has spoken through His Son, the radiance of His glory and the exact imprint of His nature.
The first readers of Hebrews were walking through uncertainty after the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed. Scripture pointed them to a person. Fix your eyes on Jesus and let His life shape your faith.
This week’s blog and the latest Between the Shores conversation return to the opening of Hebrews and the invitation to fix our eyes on Jesus. Take a few quiet minutes to reflect on what it means to listen for His voice and let His life shape our faith.

This Sunday Tracy continues in Hebrews, speaking from Hebrews 2:5–18. The passage reveals a beautiful truth. Jesus fully enters human experience. He knows suffering, temptation, and weakness, and He walks with us in it. Together we will reflect on how the shared humanity of Jesus reshapes the way we trust Him in our struggles.
![]() | Moments like this are part of what makes Kids Church special. We are looking for one more volunteer to join the nursery team, serving one week on and two weeks off. If you feel a nudge to help care for our youngest ones, please connect with Freddy or email him at [email protected]. |

![]() | Two sacred moments in the story of Jesus are approaching. Join us on Good Friday at 11:00 a.m. on April 3 as we remember the cross, and on Easter Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on April 5 as we celebrate the resurrection together. |

Deep Cleaning Days!
Our Deep Cleaning Days are on Thursday, March 26 from 11:00–2:00 and Saturday, March 28 from 9:00–12:00. If those times do not work for you, check the whiteboard in the lobby and choose a task you can complete during office hours.
![]() | Parents Night Out takes place Monday, March 23 from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at 150 Industrial Crescent. Children ages 5–12 will enjoy games, activities, and pizza while parents enjoy a few hours to recharge. |
![]() March 26 at 7:00 p.m. at SCC | Testify is a night set apart for youth to worship Jesus together. The visiting Praying Pelican Missions team will help guide the evening and create space for students to respond to Him. |
From the earliest days of the Church, Lent has been a season of preparation leading toward baptism. Baptism Sunday will take place here at SCC on March 29, and if you sense a growing readiness to take that step with Jesus, we would be honoured to walk through that conversation with you.
The Niagara Mission Team will host a family movie night fundraiser on March 21. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the movie begins at 7:00 p.m., with a $20 package that includes pizza, popcorn, a drink, and the movie. Our Niagara Mission Team has been selected, and we are excited to introduce them to you. Your encouragement and support mean a great deal as they prepare for the journey ahead. | ![]() |

![]() | The Watoto Children’s Choir will join us on April 30 at 6:30 pm with songs from their new album Better Days—There Is Hope. A free will offering will be received during the evening, and we are also looking for up to 10 host homes for the choir children and their chaperones. |

“Make us children of quietness and heirs of peace. “
These words from Clement of Alexandria remind us that peace grows where the heart slows before God. Take a few quiet moments this week to sit with Jesus and receive the peace He gives.

Scott Nash serves as one of our elders and is often helping guide different parts of our Sunday services. He also co leads Celebrate Recovery, walking alongside people as they take steady steps toward healing and freedom. Scott brings wisdom, faithfulness, and a calm presence to our church family.
If you’re sensing a desire to step in a little more, serving on a team is a meaningful place to begin. It’s where friendships grow, gifts are discovered, and everyday moments become part of how others encounter Jesus. Preparing coffee, running slides, welcoming at the door, or caring for children all play a quiet role in shaping our life together. We would be glad to help you find a place that fits.
Every week, someone takes a simple next step. A conversation begins. A team is joined. A quiet yes starts to grow. Our website is one of the places those steps begin. You will find upcoming events, ways to serve, and space to explore what might be next for you.
Jesus does not stand far away from human suffering. He stepped into it, shared it, and now leads us through it with compassion and strength. As you move through the week, place your trust in the One who understands your life and walks with you.
Thanks for being part of this church family. We are grateful to walk with Jesus together. See you Sunday.

P.S. Fix your eyes on Jesus this week. The One who shared our humanity is still walking with us.
