Jesus meets us in the present moment

Hey there SCC Family !
Welcome to The Bridge Weekly Vol 3. Issue 13!
A question came up this week that lingers longer than expected. What can be welcomed, wasted, or received, but never saved for later?
Hebrews draws us into that kind of attention. Today is where Jesus meets us, the One who is faithful over God’s house and present in every moment. As we stay with Him, listening for His voice, a steady trust begins to take shape within us.
Take a few minutes this week to read the blog or listen to Between the Shores as we sit with this invitation to think carefully about Jesus and notice where our attention is being formed. It is a simple way to stay present with Him in the middle of everyday life.

This Sunday, Heather leads us into Hebrews 4:14–5:10 as we look to Jesus, our merciful and faithful High Priest. He meets us in our weakness with compassion and understands the cost of obedience, inviting us to approach God with confidence and respond with trust in the places He is leading us.
Baptism Sunday is this Sunday, March 29. It will be a meaningful time as people take this step with Jesus, and the service may stretch a little longer than usual, so you might want to come prepared with a “just in case” snack.
If baptism has been on your mind and you sense a readiness, we would love to walk that conversation with you.
![]() | A quiet moment in the nursery can look like rocking a baby, sharing a smile, or simply being present with a little one who needs comfort. These small moments matter more than they seem. We are looking for one more volunteer to join the nursery team, serving one week on and two weeks off. If you would enjoy spending time with our youngest ones on Sunday mornings, please connect with Freddy or email him at [email protected]. |

This week we’ve had the joy of hosting the Praying Pelican Missions team, and their time with us has touched many parts of our church life. They rolled up their sleeves for our spring cleaning day today, spent time connecting with people across the church, and will be leading our youth worship night, Testify, this evening. You can read more about their week and what God has been doing through them by clicking the button below!
Deep Cleaning Day!
Thank you to everyone who came out today to serve alongside the Praying Pelican Missions team. With so many hands helping, the work was completed, and the Saturday deep cleaning day is no longer needed.

![]() | Good Friday and Easter are just ahead. Join us on April 3 at 11:00 a.m. as we remember the cross, and on April 5 at 10:00 a.m. as we celebrate the resurrection together. Thank you, Jesus, for the cross. |

![]() March 26 at 7:00 p.m. at SCC | Tonight at 7:00 p.m., youth are invited to gather for Testify, a night of worship, prayer, and community here at SCC. Invite a friend and come expectant. |
![]() | The Watoto Children’s Choir will be with us on April 30, sharing songs from their new album Better Days—There Is Hope. A free will offering will be received. |
We have 3 host homes so we are looking for 7 more host homes for that evening, each hosting two children and one chaperone. If you’re interested, email the office. If interested please email [email protected]
![]() | By the time this reaches you, Isaac will have arrived in Auckland, New Zealand. He has one more flight ahead before reaching the YWAM base. Thank you for the prayers that have already been shared, and please continue to keep him in your prayers as he settles in and begins this next step. |

“At each beat of my heart I want, O my beloved, to renew my offering to you
again and again, until I can tell you of my love face to face.”
— Thérèse of Lisieux
Let this be a quiet prayer through your week. In the middle of ordinary moments, turn your attention back to Jesus and offer Him your heart again, trusting that He is present with you here and now.

Darcy Hambly has been putting in time both up front and behind the scenes, greeting people at the door and helping bring the kids wing to life with a fresh coat of paint. He carries a steady, willing presence, and it’s been felt in the spaces he’s helped shape.
If you’re sensing a desire to step in a little more, serving on a team is a meaningful place to begin. It’s where friendships grow, gifts are discovered, and everyday moments become part of how others encounter Jesus. Preparing coffee, running slides, welcoming at the door, or caring for children all play a quiet role in shaping our life together. We would be glad to help you find a place that fits.
There are many simple ways to stay connected and find your place in the life of our church. You can explore groups, events, and next steps anytime on our website
Jesus is present in what is already in front of you. In the conversations, the decisions, the quiet moments that pass quickly, He is near and attentive. As you move through the week, take a moment to pause and consider Him, trusting that He is enough and that He will meet you there.
Thanks for being part of this church family. It is a gift to walk with Jesus together. See you Sunday.

P.S. Today is a gift. Take a moment to notice where Jesus is meeting you in it.
